Cozy basement apartment with separate entrance and natural light. Quiet neighborhood, close to bus route, and walkable distance to bars, restaurants, and center of Essex Junction. We welcome people from all walks of life, and all backgrounds into our warm, vintage chic apartment. Private space in our bustling house, you WILL HEAR us upstairs, please note!! Full bath with small shower, kitchenette with full fridge—no stove. Microwave, hot plate, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and washer and dryer. The space is a self contained apartment studio—though it is in a basement—it is cozy and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Please note: since the house is shared—noise travels in between the floors. We try to mitigate this with white noise machines so that you can have more privacy—but please be aware of this before booking. We have a TV but only have basic cable. Our tv is a “smart TV” so if you bring a fire stick or other device you can watch any and all movies from it—additionally it connects to Netflix and all other apps so you can enter your account information and watch whatever you wish. DVD’s work great in the DVD player—so please bring some along to enjoy. We live on site and though not all of these items are set up—with some advance notice we can provide the following to you! We have a fairly large lawn with a fire pit in the back yard, which you are welcome to use. We only have a few lawn chairs, but you can bring a few more of your own. We have a small smoky joe for grilling, all you have to do is ask and we can set it up for you in the driveway near your entrance. We are also happy to have you make yourself comfortable in the yard, our space is free for you to enjoy! We live right upstairs, and so I am always available to you via text most easily! Please contact me on my cell if there is any problem and you need something right away. I like to give my guests their privacy. So I will share access information and leave you alone most of your stay unless of course you need me! If you need something, I can help provide it, and if something breaks or does not work, I can fix it or get someone in there who can within a day. If you get locked out, we have keys located within a 20 minute drive, as well as spare keys upstairs in our home. Please note:: If we are away for the weekend or not home when you experience a lockout—we do charge a $50 lockout/key replacement fee. We are happy to give restaurant recommendations or tell you the best bars or spas to go to. I am from Vermont originally and went to college in the area, as well as spent significant time living in NYC, and traveling the world—so I feel confident I can make you feel at home! We have great neighbors! We are nearby the bus line, a short 7 minute walk, and all of Essex Junctions local spots. We love eating out in our neighborhood—El Gato has delicious Mexican food, and we love eating at Nepali Kitchen for Indian, another local gem is Railroad and Main—for American Food. Breakfasts at Firebird are memorable in part because of their unique location in an old car repair shop. We love to support local coffee too. You can find two coffee shops within walking distance of our home in the Junction: Nest which is right near the railroad tracks and has seating inside, and Nomad which is located in a trailer/food truck in the summer, and in a pop-up artist space in the winter months. We have parking in the driveway. You must park in the drive between November and April. In May-October, street parking is permissible. We ask that you park on the side of the house near the driveway. And be mindful of our neighbors street parking as well. You can walk to the local bars and shops, they are less than a mile, as well as a playground area if you have children. We will have more info and maps in our space for you when you arrive!! Please remove your shoes to keep our rug clean! Let us know if we are being too loud, my children enjoy being children!! We can try our best to keep the noise down. We have extra toilet paper, Kleenex, and paper towels located in the bathroom and kitchen respectively, but if you need or want any other product or cleaning supply, please let me know!
