Welcome to my little, old farm. My grandparents bought the original 1885 homestead in the 30s, the barn was a small dairy then my aunt and uncle raised State Fair prize beef. Now I'm sharing 50 acres of woods and hay fields, old fashioned country bliss. The barn now houses a menagerie including alpacas, a hayloft for camping or artist, writers. Dare to un-plug from the world for a day or 2. Enjoy the 1940s. The night sky on the hilltop will amaze you with unperturbed and endless stars. This is my home, a simple authentic farm house with two extra bedrooms and a shared bath for guests, come for the experience, real country peace and quiet. Don't forget to bring boots, this is a farm with animals! The large bedroom has a comfy queen and a single bed. The small bedroom has a comfortable double bed. If you want to try camping 101 the hayloft of the barn is a safe starting place to hear the coyotes howl. Bring a tent and sleeping bags. If you have a hammock there are hooks. Take the opportunity to explore my 40 acres of pasture, hayfield and woods with no worries about crowds and masks. Situated on a loop country road for a stroll or a casual bike ride. Be prepared to be awed by the stars and the sound of birds and the wind sometimes a train in the distance. A convenient five miles from the town of Owego and Route 17. Near Tioga Downs, Ithaca or Watkins Glen for water fun, trails and waterfalls, and Finger Lakes wine tasting tour. Also central for historic exploration and antiquing or a quiet stay while working in the area. Park between the porch and garage, enter through the porch door thru the laundroom to the kitchen. Living room and kitchen are shared spaces, as well as one and a half bathrooms on the main floor. The host / homeowner is happy to accommodate your needs. Welcome to share my country home for the weekend or for a longer retreat. Please leave all plastic containers in the store. There is good deep well water to drink. This is for folks who want a real 1940s country experience on a farm in upstate NY. Not the Madison Avenue version, no tv or wifi, please keep trash to a minimum. I am a 5 minute drive down the hill to Owego and 17c. or Rt 38 . I have a charcoal grill if you want to bbq. I can help if it's a new experience.
