River Retreat w/attached Master Bathroom

Located on the Oswego River in the heart of the Village of Phoenix which is located by Lock 1, the first Lock heading toward Lake Ontario through the Erie Canal System. Historic river front house totally renovated. Build a bonfire, go for a swim in the swim spa - summer or winter, fish, enjoy the lavender and country garden where we grow vegetables and herbs, enjoy watching and feeding the birds, ducks and squirrels, or watch the bald eagles soar and hunt the river, or do nothing at all. Your bedroom and bathroom are completely private and a key is provided so that you may lock your room. The bedroom is attached but is separate from the bathroom. The bedroom has a queen adjustable temperpedic type bed with zero gravity and massage features. An air conditioner is in your room that you control for comfort or turn off the ac and open the windows or turn on the ceiling fan. There is a closet for you to hang clothes. A flat screen tv for your enjoyment. DIrectTV is our provider. There are stairs to the second floor where this bedroom is located. If you have mobility issues this property is not for you as we have no ability to assist you with climbing or descending the staircase. The attached bathroom used to be a bedroom that was converted into a master bathroom. It has a custom luxury shower with bench along with a rain shower head and a hand held. Towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided. There is a converted antique dresser that serves as the vanity. The toilet is a hands free flush. Just a wave of the hand does the trick without having to touch a handle. The WIFI password is provided to you at time of check-in. There is no cooking allowed in your space. This includes the use of coffee makers or hot pots. All cooking is done in the kitchen. You may keep food in the refrigerator in our kitchen. There is a coffee maker in the kitchen which you are free to make coffee or have a cup of coffee if it is already made in the morning. This is a non-smoking house and if you smoke it must be done outside of the residence away from the entrance doors. This room only accommodates two (2) people. For example one (1) adult and one (1) child, two (2) adults or one (1) adult. Pets are not allowed. No exceptions. The guests will have access to all rooms of the home except the homeowners bedroom. The guests will also have access to the garden, the patio, the swimspa, the dock, and the barbecue The guests will interact with the homeowners on a daily basis as well as their three small dogs. Dogs are not allowed on furniture and during day their access is limited to back of the house. If you want to interact with the dogs it is at your discretion. They are behaved and will not bother you unless you want their attention. Please do not allow them outside unless you intend on watching them. They usually stay in the backyard but because it is not fenced you must keep an eye on them and make sure they come inside when you do. The Historic Village of Phoenix is completely walkable and the heart of the Village is located on the Oswego River which is part of the Erie Canal System. Lock 1 is the first of the locks toward Lake Ontario. Watch boats as they enter and leave the lock to their next destination. The house is located on the river side of State Street which is only five houses from the Village center. There is a bakery, diner - Larkins, real estate office - Adolphi, coffee shop, bar-restaurant - Duskees, pizza - Cam’s, laundry, ice cream shop, hair salon, a convenience store-gas station, several churches, Lock 1 and Lock 1 Distillery. Where we live is becoming an emerging village and during the Summer there are many outdoor events including concerts to enjoy. There isn't public transportation to get around. The Village of Phoenix is walkable. During the NYS fair in August/September there are buses that will take you from the Village to the Fair. The property has an outdoor swim spa which is available for the guests. The guests can borrow fishing rods to fish off of the dock or take a swim in the Oswego River (life jackets will be provided) at your own risk. The guests can hang out on either the two concrete patios weather permitting. If you own a small boat you can dock it here. If you want to interact with the dogs, they will love you furever. There is no cooking in your room or a refrigerator other than the common kitchen which you have access. No exceptions. There are also stairs to the second floor where your bedroom is located which you must be able to climb. We have no ability to assist you up or down the stairs. This is also a non-smoking house. Smoking allowed outside away from entry doors.
