Tranquil, treed setting located in quiet neighbourhood, a 5 minute drive to Highway 1; just a 5 minute drive to historic Fort Langley or Thunderbird Show Park. Cozy, clean, private room in cedar log home with separate, private entry and private attached ensuite. Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the privacy of your room - choose from a specialty coffee or cup of tea with a choice of home baked waffles with fresh berry sauce, lemon ricotta pancakes, or scrambled eggs on toast and a fruit bowl. If you are looking for a personal retreat in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, this is the place! We describe our location as semi rural - close to all amenities but with a rural feel because all the properties are an acre in size. You will see animals grazing across the Salmon river when you drive onto our property. Your room is in a separate wing of the house so you are totally private from our living area. You'll find a freshly baked treat awaiting you when you get here. We do not have any pets so no need to worry if you have allergies. It's just my husband and myself who live in the other part of the home. We are always looking for ways to improve your stay with us. A number of guests have requested a larger bed so we just updated the room to include a queen size bed with a new mattress and new bedding. You will also find a new bistro style table with 2 very comfortable black leather chairs where you can enjoy your morning breakfast. Our internet provider is Shaw. The plan which we have is the internet 300 plan which allows for download speeds up to 300 Mbps. We serve breakfast between 7-9 am but if you are an early riser, we can arrange to have your breakfast prepared and in your fridge for you to warm up in your microwave and toaster. There is a selection of teas and a french press to make yourself coffee and you will find cream in the fridge. We have parking for your vehicle or pick up truck on our driveway. Just drive around the island and park in front of the house. You will take the stairs to the front door entrance to access your suite. Even though we are only minutes away from shopping and other amenities, the setting of our home feels rural with mature trees all around and the Salmon River at the end of the cul de sac. It is so peaceful that we can often hear the owls hooting in the trees in the evening! The subtle scents of the cedar walled rooms are sure to give you a good night's sleep! Our neighbourhood has very little traffic making it conducive for a lovely stroll. If weather permits, you can enjoy your breakfast on our front deck overlooking our pond. Trinity Western University is only a 5 minute drive away. If you don't have a vehicle, we are often available to give you a ride there. Take in the boutiques and shops or go for a walk on the Fort to Fort trail in the quaint village of Fort Langley - a 5 minute drive. There is a pathway/trail in our neighbourhood with a duck pond that allows you to walk to Fort Langley (25 mintue walk). In the summer, the berry farms (Krause Berry Farms and Estate Winery and Driediger Farms) are 10 minutes away and other wineries are within 10 - 20 minute drives. If you are a horse lover, Thunderbird Show Park is located only 7 minutes away. They boast one of North America's premier equestrian show facilities. Nearby Walnut Grove Community Centre is fully equipped for your fitness needs with a pool and/or drop in classes for sports and activities. If you are interested in museums, there are a number in the area including the Fort Langley Historic Site, the Canadian Museum of Flight and a smaller BC Farm Museum. A recent guest shared this poem he had written, after waking early in the morning and writing to describe the view from his window: Nature Has many faces Today the fog greets me Mysteriously filtering my eyes So that I see only the essence of life No need for little details Just the basics will suffice. Find peace in what I have Open my mind To the wonders blurred By a hectic world of stress and strife Just sit back Close my eyes Take five Our home is located in a subdivision where everyone is on acreage. While this gives us privacy and green space, it may be important to know that the closest bus transportation, is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. The bus stop is located at the Glover Road and Rawlison intersection. This route gives you access to Langley City/Trinity Western/Walnut Grove and Surrey Central Station . Our time is fairly flexible and allows us to pick guests up at Trinity Western University most days, and we are also open to driving guests to their required drop off point. Feel free before booking to inquire whether we are available to pick you up or drop you off!
