This is not your average Airbnb. Magnolia Blossom Inn is a 1905 historic mansion with 4,650 square feet on three floors. Oak woodwork; hardwood floors; stained glass windows; fireplaces; leaded glass windows; and octagonal tile floors and vintage tubs in each guest bath. We may allow small pets - please check before booking. The Magnolia Suite is perfect for a family stay or any time more room is needed. It includes the Magnolia Room plus an extra bedroom especially to accommodate your children or to be used when two or more adults are traveling together. The Magnolia Room is a large airy bedroom on the 2nd floor east with one queen bed with original woodwork and hardwood floors and a private en suite full bath. On the other side of the bath is the second bedroom with a day bed and trundle which can accommodate up to two adults . The private en suite bathroom has a pedestal tub with shower, original octagonal floor tile and original subway tile walls. Both rooms in the Magnolia Suite have ceiling fans, black out curtains, luggage racks, strong wi-fi, central air and heat and large closets. Besides the guest room, guests have access to the large living area on the first floor with television and games. There is a large wrap-around front porch and a huge fenced front yard. Ice water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit available 24/7 in the dining room. We reside on site and are always available to assist you. Independence Kansas is a treasure. At the turn of the 20th century, it boasted more millionaires per capita than any other US city. Check out Indy Main Street, Riverside Park and Zoo, nearby Elk City Reservoir, historic homes tour and our many pubs and restaurants. Independence Community College is the town's junior college and its football team is featured on the Netflix show "Last Chance U." Independence hosts the Inge Festival in May and Neewollah in October. Your best travel option is by car. Tulsa airport is the closest airport, but Wichita is a close second. Magnolia Blossom Inn is walking distance to the quaint downtown district with shopping, art galleries, pubs and restaurants. Ample free street parking in town and at the Inn. No Uber. Our cat Henry resides in the house. We keep him out of the guest rooms, but those with severe cat allergies may be uncomfortable.
