Takoda House Medina, TX Farm Stay

Takoda means “friend to everyone” & that’s exactly how we want to make you feel when you visit our cozy cabin. We are nestled in the quaint town of Medina, Texas in the heart of the beautiful hill country. Our home is unique in that, you and your family will be able to interact with some of our animals on the farm. They love guest too. They aren’t shy and they will come right up to the house wanting to be fed. In the evenings, you may want to kick back & relax! Nothing is more peaceful than sitting on the porch to watch the sunset. It is nothing short of spectacular. If it’s a little chilly, cozy on up around the fire pit & enjoy the glow of a warm fire underneath the Texas sky. Maybe even roast some marshmallows. Whatever you plan to do, one thing is guaranteed, you will feel right at home at Takoda House. It is fun for the whole family. Guest can enjoy sitting on the porch to watch a beautiful sunset or sit around the fire pit in the evening...maybe roast some marshmallows. You are only minutes away from Medina. Visit the Old Timer, the Core or The Apple Store! We always respect guest and give them their privacy to relax and enjoy but we are always available for any questions or to resolve any issues! We are 15 minutes from Bandera, 35 minutes and from Kerrville.Not to mention, 40 to 50 minutes to the beautiful Lost Maples State Natural Area, Concan and Garner State Park. All Great places to visit. Getting around in Medina is super easy! Enjoy a ride in your car, bring a bike and ride to town or take a nice country stroll. Pets are welcomed but must be on leash at all times because there are other animals on the property. We also ask that you take your pet away from the home to use the bathroom. We suggest past the picnic tables. Please be aware we are in the country. So in the country we have things that you may not readily see in the city like certain bugs, snakes and mice. We do routinely complete pest control and maintain a rodent control but weather does affect all of these creatures in the country as well. We also have animals running around on the property like our famous turkey, Loco and also peacocks and chickens. They will come up on the porches, follow you and are in the yard around your home. These animals can't be kept off of the porch or out of the yards. They are very friendly but they may come on the porch when you do not want them to. If they bother you or make a mess just let us know and we will do our best to resolve the issue.
