Whether you are driving or taking the bus, we are close to public transportation and there is on-site parking so it is perfect for everyone! Modern, basement unit located less than half a mile from D.C. and 3.5 miles from University of Maryland. Mt. Rainier is a family friendly community with tons of culture and art. Be sure to stop by the Brentwood Arts Exchange. Our guests enjoy a PRIVATE basement suite fully equipped with: your own entrance, bedroom with a closet & desk, kitchen fully loaded with a microwave, fridge, & keurig, dining area, stylish bathroom, and spacious living room. Free street parking is available on one side of the street—be sure you are parked on the same side as other cars! Feel free to hang out in our backyard gazebo or share a beverage with us on our deck. You can be downtown D.C. touring the National Mall in 20 minutes or use the green or red metro lines. Guests can enjoy the modern comforts and conveniences of the space. Comfortable queen bed, two large couches, an air mattress, dining room table, tv, board games, books, full bathroom equipped with toiletries (never hesitate to ask us for something!), mini-fridge, microwave, and a Keurig. We provide our guests with home roasted coffee beans and a variety of tea and k-cups. Our guests vary in what level of interaction they want with their host. We are respectful of your wishes. We love meeting our guests but always respect your privacy. We are always available to you for help or advice. We do live upstairs so feel free to say hello. The City of Mt. Rainier is half a mile from northeastern D.C. , 4 miles from downtown D.C., and 3.5 miles from College Park, MD. Free street parking is available around Mt. Rainier, MD. There are few spots that require a parking meter. No special permits are need throughout the city. On most streets parking is only allowed on one side of the street—be sure you are on the right side! We are located 0.1 miles from a bus line and 1.7 miles (driving) from green line trains (West Hyattsville) or 2.5 miles from red lines trains (Brentwood/Rhode Island). The trains are accessible via walking, bus or Lyft/Uber. If you can’t wait to get to downtown D.C. there are plenty of Lyft and Uber drivers in the area. There is fast takeout place right off of 34th street (0.1 mi) and a new restaurant coming in March 2019 in the Mt. Rainier traffic circle. Be sure to ask us about our favorite places to eat in the Brookland (10 min drive to D.C.) area or Hyattsville (5 min drive). There are also several local breweries (Right Proper, DC Brau, Streetcar 82 Brewery, and Maryland Meadworks). We provide onsite directions to buses, metro stations, and local points of interest and restaurants.
