Quiet rural farmhouse on acres of farmland with pond. Spacious home with lots of sunlight and room to relax, read, write and hang with nature inside and on several porches and patios. This listing is for the smaller bedroom comfortable for a single or close couple with a very comfortable queen-sized bed overlooking the pond. Waken to a view of the sunrise over the water! A larger room is also available separately listed as "Rural Rooms in Comfortable Quiet Farmhouse." Separate spaces for virus-isolation - only one room will be rented at a time unless guests are related and take both rooms. Quiet country surroundings with light b'fast. On-premises laundry service is available for an additional fee. A pair of Spanish water dogs (a medium sized non-allergenic breed) with an agreeable disposition. Each guest has a private bedroom located on the second floor, furnished with a desk, chair, and satellite internet. Guests share a main general room, a quiet sunroom overlooking the pond, an outdoor front porch with rockers and sitting, and the patio with tables and chairs for outdoor dining. Guests share a large upstairs bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Guests have the use of a small dorm refrigerator, microwave, and electric tea kettle. There is no general kitchen available and no food storage or food prep is permitted upstairs in guest bedrooms. We provide a kind, supportive environment. Come, focus and work free from the mental clutter of everyday living. Located in a rural village, this farmhouse home provides outstanding country views from every window. Overlooking a pond, old dairy barns, and rolling countryside. Flocks of wild Canadian geese and an American Bald Eagle frequent the pond. Country living at its best - and about a 40-minute commute to Baltimore. ( I teach at Morgan State University, located in the university/hospital cluster of Baltimore Universities: Loyola, Johns Hopkins, Towson, and the University of Maryland.) 24-hour laundry service or additional meals can be provided for an extra fee. Close to the Pennsylvania border, there is no public transportation. It is a pleasant commute to Towson and Baltimore. Each room has a list of suggestions for food, dining, recreation, area activities and a laundromat. There is no public transportation, but we can suggest several spots easily drivable for dining and shopping in nearby villages in Maryland and adjacent Pennsylvania (FawnGrove, PeachBottom, and Lancaster.) Four miles to Fawn Grove's shops and restaurants, and the Sigi Koko Straw Bale construction workshops. Close to Peach Bottom and Cowaninga Dam projects. And an 8-mile commute to BelAir (a beautiful drive by a running stream with picturesque bridges) ending at the BelAir shopping and mall complexes. Nearby hiking trails at Rock Park and several other state parks with hiking trails. We are located on a recreational Harley ride-route. 10 miles to the world-renown Ladew Topiary Gardens with cafe, art shows, concerts, lectures, and rare plant sales. About a 45-minute commute to Towson and downtown Baltimore.
