River Rouge is a small community just outside Detroit. Most of the houses were built in the first quarter of the 1900s for workers in the nearby steel and auto factories. Today Rouge is still a working class neighborhood made-up of a diverse community of people -- some who have lived here all their lives, and others who are drawn to Rouge for it's affordable rentals. The houses are relatively close together, the side-streets are one-way only. This house is is in the third block East of Jefferson Ave (the main street going through River Rouge). During your stay, you will see lots of activity -- people walking up to Jefferson Ave, kids running around playing, dogs barking, cars driving by. Sometimes you can even hear the horns from the big boats on the Detroit River :) The little local grocery store is just one street over, up on Jefferson; there is a McDonalds and Dairy Queen just a couple blocks away; and there are Dispensaries (for those who indulge) just up the street! Although there is a bus route that runs nearby, Cars or Uber are the best way to get around Metro Detroit. Within River Rouge, there are several restaurants, convenience stores, a grocery store, and our community park within walking distance. Parking: You are welcome to park in the driveway , or there are always spaces on the street.
