Riverside Retreat

Welcome to Riverside Retreat! Our beautiful Riverside neighborhood of Harrisburg is close to all the action, and yet is a quiet residential area where you will often see neighbors pushing their young children in strollers, walking their dogs, or going for a bike ride. Our spacious home has been completely renovated, yet still has the charm and character of an older home. Enjoy the refinished original hardwood floors, a large fully-stocked kitchen, and lots of natural light. Our two-story home features a full living room, dining room, and gorgeous kitchen that looks out to the back deck and shared backyard garden with a patio and fishpond. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with a double bed, and the bathroom. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. For your convenience, we provide self check-in with keyless entry. We live close by and would be happy to meet you, but will not intrude on our guests. Please don't hesitate to contact us, as we want to ensure that you enjoy your stay! Just off the I-81 Front Street exit and a few blocks from the Susquehanna River, it’s conveniently located for quick access to all that Harrisburg and the surrounding area has to offer. Within walking distance you will find Italian Lake Park and the walking/biking path along the Susquehanna River. Just a few minutes drive from Midtown and Downtown Harrisburg, which has restaurants, farmer’s market, bookstore, and museums. Some of our favorite places are: - Little Amps Coffee - Alvaro’s Italian Bakery and Restaurant - The Broad Street Market - Yellow Bird Café - Midtown Scholar Bookstore - The Capitol Complex - City Island We are also very close to the Farm Show Complex (about 5 minutes) and Fort Hunter Park. We are not far from other tourist attractions in central Pennsylvania, including Hershey (20 minutes away), Lancaster (40 min.), and Gettysburg (40 min.). This is a non-smoking home and therefore we can only accept non-smokers. If you smoke, please do not book our home. Street parking on our block is abundant and free! While we can’t guarantee you the spot right in front of our house, it’s very likely that you will be able to park there during your stay. The home has one TV in the living room with basic HD cable and a Roku. A washer and dryer are available in the basement. Guests are able to use the laundry facilities for an additional $15 fee.
