Morning Glory House - Entire Second Floor.

Located in Marlinton, WV, (established in 1749) on the Greenbrier River; our house was built in 1896. Over the years it has been divided into two living areas, up and down, with separate entries. More details below.** (Website hidden by Airbnb) IMPORTANT The listing details for Morning Glory House indicates the house capacity of six (6). But, that doesn't mean six (6) Adults. Read details below, under "The Space." We can accommodate up to five (5) adults with no children or Four adults with up to two (2) children. We will work with any guest requesting something different than the information above. ( Such requests may include an additional fee.) ***The upstairs apartment has two bedrooms, a kitchen/dining area, a bathroom (shower only), and a large living room with a fireplace (gas), a big-screen TV*, (Roku brand with YouTube TV), HIGH-SPEED INTERNET and WiFi. Folks come to these mountains for fishing (trout galore) hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing. (SnowShoe Mountain - 22 miles). The upstairs apartment is cozy, with total privacy. The TV is a whole lot smarter than I am, but then I'm an old guy. Smart TV is for young people, which is another way to say if you have any questions about the TV, well, I'll try :-) Parking is on-street in front of the house. Free parking. There are no restricted areas in the apartment. Your hosts, Jean and Joel live in the lower half and are available for directions, and chat. One of your hosts is usually around but you'll have a phone number to call or text. No smoking includes weed, go outside if that's necessary. Marlinton is a very small town (less than 1000) thus the grand tour takes about 10 minutes. The immediate neighborhood includes the Pocahontas County Courthouse (one block) and the Mayor lives across the street :-) Bike rentals are available at two locations in town. Appalachian Sport rents bikes, located on Rt. 219 just over the bridge. They supply gear for outdoor enthusiasts (hunting, fishing, camping, kayaks, you name it.). The Dirt Bean is a coffee shop/cafe and a bicycle shop, located at 818 2nd Ave. (Or just ask anyone "Where's the Bean?") Biking the Greenbrier River trail is wildly popular. Spectacular. Information on taxes and rates: West Virginia has a 6% sales tax which you pay when you book us through Airbnb. In addition to the sales tax, local governments charge a 6% hotel/motel occupancy tax. Airbnb collects both the occupancy tax. and the sales tax. Our pricing structure is two-tiered, $84 or $96. During ski season our rate is $84 or $96per night on ski weekends and holiday times. (Supply and demand) Our prices are well below the prices charged on the mountain. It's 22 miles to SnowShoe so it becomes a matter of convenience over price. In case you're wondering, the State Road Department does a great job keeping the roads clear throughout the Winter. As an added advantage there is a regular bus service between Marlinton and SnowShoe. The daily rate beginning the Friday before Thanksgiving until the Saturday after Thanksgiving is $96. Beginning December 20, the rate is $96 through January First. In summary: $84 per night except $96 on ski season weekends, holidays, or special events (such as Pioneer Days and The Roadkill cookoff - events of note in Marlinton.) Prices are shown on the calendar. Please note: As of January 24, 2022, we will charge a $40 cleaning fee. We've tried to avoid this, but we are now using an outside service. It was either raise our price or charge the fee.
