There is a nice deck off the upstairs bedroom, and a sunny wrap around deck on the main level. Yard is completely fenced with stockade fence backed by coated wire. The perfect space for kids and dogs. Maximum occupancy is 4 adults (please inquire for larger parties). Large upstairs bedroom has queen and full size bed and twin trundle. Wireless internet available. Washer/dryer available for use. Heat options are a propane monitor and heat pump keep this cabin warm and cozy! There is a high efficiency minisplit AC system newly installed in 2019. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Within walking distance to downtown Keene for coffee, food, or the playground (ice skating, sledding in winter and swings, basketball and tennis the rest of the year). Located on the Lake Placid Iron Man bicycle course. Just a 10 minute drive to Mount Van Hoevenberg and only 15 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. Convenient to Lake Placid and the Olympic Center Complex, just 20 minutes away. 5 minutes to Marcy field and hiking access to the high peaks. Ideal location to enjoy the many activities the High Peaks has to offer - skiing, ice climbing, fishing, hiking, canoeing, tubing, rock climbing, biking, golfing, ice skating, horseback riding etc. You have access to the house and the fenced yard. Call, text, or email if you have any questions or problems during your stay! We are located 0.5 miles from the center of Keene, easy walking to town, restaurants, cafes and stores. Easy access to the high peaks. For information on Essex County transportation please visit: (Website hidden by Airbnb) The closest full grocery stores (Price Chopper and Hannaford) are about 25 minutes away on the far side of Lake Placid (Follow NY 73 into Lake Placid, taking a hard left onto 86 in downtown LP. Follow 86 up and down the hill and Price Chopper is in a large plaza on your left, Hannaford is a bit further on your left). There is a small grocery store in Keene Valley (Valley Grocer) which is only about 5 minutes away and a Topps in Elizabethtown is about 20 minutes away for those not willing to drive through LP. A full set of cooking and eating utensils as well as small appliances are available for your use at the cottage. Generally there are coffee filters, paper towels, napkins, and some condiments at the cabin.There is an outdoor fire-pit available for guest use, please DO NOT bring firewood with you. NYS prohibits the transport of wood from out of state and farther than 50 miles. This helps protect the Adirondacks from the emerald ash borer and the asian long horned beetle. Keene does not have garbage pick-up! Please be prepared to take your garbage with you when you leave or drop it off at the transfer station on your way out of town. This is annoying and we understand, but currently we do not have a better way to deal with it!
