Camp Hollow - Artist Studio
You’ll love our place because of the stream that weaves and cascades down throughout the property into a hollow grove of trees. The mature trees and foliage create dappled light and shaded resting spots. Close to Paradise (5 min), Hyrum Dam (10 min), Bear Lake (1 hour), Logan Canyon (15-20 min), Blacksmith Fork Canyon (5 min), Sardine Canyon, Logan City, public transport, & parks. Good for singles, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Camp Hollow is a very unique property created in a hollow grove of trees with a stream that cascades down from a hilltop pond. The two homes were designed and built by a talented artist. He built the main house and artist studio with the help of his artist father, who painted murals in the main house. The second owners were medical nuns who played the harp for hospice patients and worked in the local community and hospitals. They were avid gardeners who planted 122 fruit trees, flowers, and bushes, who created this space as a sanctuary and lined the creek with flora & fauna. Furthermore, they built birdhouses throughout the property as an estuary habitat for birds. We are artists who fill the rooms with paintings, painted furniture, as well as photograph and paint landscapes of the surrounding areas. The setting brings deer down from the canyon to graze on the hill. It is gorgeous and peaceful year round in all four seasons. It is the perfect place, just outside of Paradise, to get away and enjoy a retreat! All grounds, stream, hollow with park benches throughout property. Climb the hill, walk back around the pond, and up behind the pond to the hilltop to see over the valley. You are completely secluded in the studio house. We live in the main house and are available 24/7 if needed, yet we will observe your privacy. There are horses to the north of us in a pasture and mallard ducks with a father goose, who is their protector, that come and go between our property and our neighbors to the west. The neighbors' properties are large wooded landscapes with a road that divides us. So, the property is secluded and private. There is free public bus service around Cache Valley to catch a few blocks away. Transportation from the Salt Lake City airport (2 hours from the property and Cache Valley) can be accessed through the front runner train at the SLC airport that will take you to Ogden City, Utah. At the Ogden train station we can pick you up and transport you here to Cache Valley which is about a 1 hour drive. What's NEW: Temperature controls for heat and air conditioning, just right of the washer and dryer closet. New Hickory hardwood flooring. New bedding purchased at the time the flooring was installed. Bedding is something I buy frequently to update the look and because everything is washed for each guest, so therefore needs to be renewed often. Optional add on with 24 hour notice - We offer breakfast for as many days as desired . Menu of choices such as Dutch babies or German pancakes filled with Greek yogurt, topped with fresh mixed berries, and drizzled with real maple syrup (menu provided upon request) and cost is $10 a person. Let us know about dietary restrictions. We can adapt the menu to gluten free and dairy free if needed.
