We are ready for another beautiful summer and Fall 2021 at Chateau Laroux! Major improvements this year, A NEW KITCHEN with high end Viking appliances and custom cherry cabinets! Brand new large windows that bring the glorious Catskills inside. Are you a TENNIS PLAYER? We built a professional grade tennis hard court!!! If you have no one to play with, ask Me. I am ready to hit at anytime and NIGHT TIME as well since we have state of the art LED light system. We allow CERTAIN type of pets. This beautiful secluded private rental home is situated on a manicured 25 acre gated estate in a mountainous notch. It is surrounded by state land with flowing streams. The house has a huge open floor plan centered around a stone fireplace. Modern leather couches and 80” flat screen TV make up the living room is situated in the corner to entertain guests with wine or drinks. There is also a new 55” smart TV in the master bedroom. The recently renovated kitchen is open to the main room. Enjoy your meal at the kitchen countertop or at the more formal 8 person custom made wood dining room table. There are two bedrooms. The large master bedroom is located upstairs with a king bed. There is also a small alcove in the master bedroom with a single bed, perfect for a child. A second bedroom is on the ground floor with a queen bed and a full bed. There are two bathrooms side by side on the ground floor. One bathroom has a tub and the other bathroom has a shower. On warm sunny days guests can enjoy the large granite patio overlooking a grass field (2 acres) with beautiful sunsets down the valley. Expansive, fields surround the homes providing privacy and serenity. It is the perfect, tranquil, Catskill escape. Given the layout of the house, it most comfortably accommodates 1 or 2 couples, or one family. The unique property has several structures which were modeled after Polish Tatra Mountain architecture, hence, our property is called "Tatra House". There have even been magazine articles written about it! Located 120 miles from New York City in Lanesville, New York, we are truly in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. Only 6 miles (8 minutes) to Hunter Mountain, 6 miles to Phoenicia, 8 miles to Tannersville, and a 20 mile scenic drive (approx. 30 minutes) to the famous town of Woodstock, New York. In just a short drive you can enjoy many nearby activities - hiking, skiing, snowboarding, golf, swimming, tubing, cycling..... Several extra notes: ** There is no cell phone service, but there is wifi and a land line. ** We are always updating the entire property. Therefore, some minor details may be different from the photos, such as the color of the patio umbrella!. Me and Christina are usually on the property residing in the main house. I ALWAYS CHECK IN new guests for security reasons. We are available for anything our guests need, just a message or phone call and I am there to help out with problems or provide information. The guest house is located over 200 feet away and separated by large trees/shrubs/woods that makes it very private and not visible. Please view the aerial photograph of the estate in the pictures to get an idea of the layout of the structures. The estate is located on 25 acres of land surrounded by thousands of acres of state land. Across the stream my neighbor also resides on 25 acres and is surrounded by state land. We are very private and deep in the Catskill State Park although just 6 miles in both directions on Route 214 leads you to the towns of Phoenicia and Hunter/Tannersville with plenty of restaurants and shopping. WILD ANIMALS! We do live in CATSKILL State Park, there are Black Bears, Deer, Turkeys, Woodchucks, Fisher Cats, Coyotes, Foxes, Raccoons, Snakes, Mountain Lions and I even saw a Moose once. There are also bugs of many kind. PLEASE bring in all food at night from BBQ or Dinners on the outside patio or you will have fury visitors. DON'T EVER LEAVE OUT FOOD OR FEED THE WILD LIFE. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW! Trailsways bus service from NYC drops you off in the town of Phoenicia or Tannersville and Hunter both approximately 6 miles from our property. Taxi service is available from Hunter/Tannersville towns, called SMILEYS. We have a "soft water" well. Very common in the Catskills, it means the water has a mild sulfur smell to it. It is perfectly OK to bath in and wash your teeth. We do NOT recommend you drink it. We provide fresh water in the kitchen on the counter and refrigerator.
