Peaceful, semi-rustic home on 16 wooded acres. Sweet 'suite' with private bath, bedroom, and outer room with 2 twin beds and writing table. (new photo coming soon) Great place to get away from it all - for a little personal, writing, creative, or meditation retreat; to get a good hit of nature; to use as a base camp while exploring the area and all it has to offer. Everyone welcome! DUE TO COVID-19 & MA governor's orders, I'm temporarily unable to host. Hope to resume early/mid June! A Place for Peace - a simple yet lovely home on a beautiful piece of property that offers the feel of camping or a cabin, with the amenities of a B&B or small inn. Bright colors mix with natural wood and lots of windows that look out into a forest of oak and maple and birch and moss covered rocks and flowers and ornamental grasses. Private guest space includes bedroom, sitting room (with bed), and full bath. Guests are welcome to enjoy spacious living area, dining room, campfires, marked trail, porches, hammock, and more. Fresh blueberries in your morning cereal? Take your bowl right out to the bushes and pick your own! Afternoon paddle or swim? We're just a few miles from the Chesterfield Gorge and the DAR State Forest, and offer use of canoe and everything you need to transport and enjoy it for a small additional fee. If you'd like some conversation or suggestions for things to do and places to go, I'm usually happy to chat. Prefer quiet? That works too! Want to schedule a truly silent 'retreat'? House is 1.5 miles off main road, and first house after pavement ends. It's a quiet street with minimal car activity, where people let their dogs walk off leash, keep their cats indoors, and never leave their trash out unless they want to clean up after bears make a mess. Unless you're an avid cyclist arriving by bike, staying here without transportation is not typically recommended. The nearest bus stop is 3 miles away, and the service is somewhat irregular. If you are planning a real 'retreat' experience and wish to be picked up and dropped off in town upon arrival and departure, arrangements can often be made. Just send an inquiry with your reservation. Light, cold breakfast, coffee, tea included. Additional 'ad ons' may be available during some stays (e.g., hot breakfast, fireside refreshments, pet-sitting, writing, meditation, or creative activities/events/workshops)
