In the kitchen, we hand-crafted entirely new cabinets, countertops, and open-shelving from raw sheets of sugar pine. Each piece was routed and hand-carved like they probably did a hundred years ago. We wanted to give the cabin a timeless, fairytale feel, but with a bit of whimsy. I think we got that in the kitchen, but in the bathrooms, the whimsy part looks like it went to a strange and fancy Vegas hotel and came back. But we love it and hope you do, too! And with our National Forest Vehicle Adventure Pass, you can park/visit any one of the many US Forest Service trails and recreation areas. There are a wide variety to choose from, ranging from easy, stroller friendly walks with animal footprint trails for kids, to more advanced hikes to rock formations and hot springs! HOME DESCRIPTION Here are some of the cabin features: Living Room: Refinished vintage coffee table Original wood-burning stove fireplace 55" Samsung Ultra Hi-Def 4K HD tv Wi-Fi Principal Bathroom: Hand-carved cabinets and counters Double vessel sinks under matching chandeliers Ultra-modern Italian faucets Porcelain-tiled bath & shower Dual-flush toilet Lower Floor Bathroom: Hand-painted Italian vessel sink More custom woodwork Beds: Principal Bedroom: Queen (upstairs) Bedroom #2: Queen (downstairs) Bedroom #3: 2 Bunks (2 twin-over-twin beds - downstairs) HOME AMENITIES The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, dishes, glassware and cookware. -Wood-burning stove fireplace: Bring a bundle of firewood if you'd like to cozy up next to the fireplace! **Please bring your own supply of firewood and you may want to bring a duraflame log or firelighters to help with starting the fireplace. This is an original, wood-burning stove fireplace with no gas supply. PLEASE NOTE: -No BBQ/grilling/open fires on premises. **Extreme Fire Danger** ** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests! GUEST ACCESS All of it! You have access to the entire house. The cabin is setup to be your home away from home. Note: There is one storage closet adjacent to the downstairs bathroom that is locked and not accessible to guests. There is convenient parking on the gravel driveway for a maximum of 2 vehicles - please avoid parking on the street because there's a strictly enforced no-parking zone on our street. CABIN & GUEST INFORMATION: *Arrival & check-in time is after 5pm. *Departure & check-out is by 11am. Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS? A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you. Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT? A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding. *40 steps to the front door. There is a flight of steps (outside) to the first level of the home -- this is quite common for the mountain community (be sure to use the handrails). Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED? A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest. **NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay! Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP? A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions. Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE? A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when driving on mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires. Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW? A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our driveway, steps, entry and deck are not. *Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay. ** BE SURE TO COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED** In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on mountain roads. Be sure to check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, the National Weather Service, etc. * We do not extend refunds due to weather conditions, road closures, driver's abilities or vehicle limitations. * Mountain weather requires shoveling snow. Guests will be responsible for shoveling the steps, the deck, a place to park and shoveling a path to and from the cabin. * Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy. **MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at all times. Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED? A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes. **San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times. Please read and review the following important items and the "House Manual" on your arrival for additional cabin and guest information. We promise our allergy-sensitive guests a pet/dander-free home. • NO SMOKING/VAPING **We are a SMOKE-FREE home. **NO Grilling/BBQing/Bonfires. • NO PARTIES/NOISE DISTURBANCES **If any of the house rules are not adhered to, all guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately and will forfeit the reservation and all rental and deposit fees paid.
