Madison's Upstairs Sanctuary

As morning light enters the many windows, start your day with a meditation or yoga in our Zen Room. This is a great apartment on the third floor of a beautiful Victorian-style house good for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. Superfast Internet. Fresh coffee. Skip the Raddison and stay at Madison’s. :) We are a 10 minute walk to Glen island, 7 minute cab ride to NYC Commuter rail, and close to many of the great wedding venues. The space is clean, airy and light on the top floor of the tallest house on the block. Great flow and clean carpets. There is also a Zen room with beautiful conscious artwork, yoga mats, and comfortable seating. Informal eat-in kitchen. Outside the house there is a yard and gardens in front and back. Feel free to lounge in the yard or rock on the rocking chairs on the front porch. Finally, I own a vintage video game collection with Nintendo NES and table top arcades. Feel free to get your nostalgia on with our collection. Guests have access to their bedroom on the third floor, the kitchen, bathroom, and the Zen room. Outside the apartment, guests can hang out in the back yard or relax quietly on the front porch. I will be there to meet you and show you around the apartment (unless working, at which point I can leave a key). I'm always available for sightseeing suggestions and questions! Right around the corner from the house there are amazing things to do. Great biking on trails into Pelham Bay Park, Orchard beach, and City Island. There is also Glen Island, a gorgeous park with a private beach and wide open grounds for relaxation. At the end of the block there is a supermarket, Italian and Chinese restaurants. We are also 10 minute drive to New Roc City, which has a huge movie theater, bowling, arcade, all in downtown New Rochelle which itself has historic buildings, restaurants, and nightlife. Getting groceries is a 5 minute walk, the beach is 15 minutes, 5 minute walk to the bus connecting to 6 train subway, or 20 minute walk to Metro North. Public transportation is also very accessible: 1. Cheapest option: Walk 5 minutes down the block and you will get to a bus that will take you to the end of the 6 subway train. There you get a FREE TRANSFER to the subway and can travel anywhere in the city you want to go. Total cost anywhere in the city: $2.75 per person. Total time to Times Square or Grand Central : Approximate 1 Hour. 2. If you need to get in quickly there is also the commuter rail: 20 minute walk or 7 minute cab ride gets you to the New Rochelle train station. From there the ride is ~30 minutes to Grand Central Station. At Grand Central you get a subway card and can continue to anywhere in the city: Total cost: $8.50 off peak times (plus cab).
