Village Apt near Lake Champlain
Spacious, fully furnished 3 bedroom apartment in the heart of historic village in the Adirondacks. Short walk or drive to Lake Champlain beaches and marinas, and easy access to outdoor activities in Keene Valley and Lake Placid, and Vermont. The apartment is in the heart of the village, and while you can walk to the grocery store, restaurants, and wine shop (among other places) it is at the foothills of the Adirondacks, so most streets are on a steep incline. The apartment is spacious and comfortable for a group but do expect some road noise as it's on a busy street. The apartment is fully available for your use, and is accessed from the back of the house. There are about 10 steps to the 2nd floor apartment. There is ample parking in front of or behind the garage. I will either greet you at the start of your visit, or text additional information to make sure you can easily gain access. I'm available nearby if assistance is required. Foote's Port Henry Diner is one of the oldest surviving diners in the country, and two blocks from the apartment. Built by Ward & Dickinson in 1926, it has been in the same location in Port Henry (next to the Mac's grocery store) since 1933. It was renovated in 2000 and received an award at that time from Adirondack Architectural Heritage. Don't miss it for breakfast or lunch, open Wed-Sun, 7-2. We also now have a lovely new cafe, in a rehabbed historic building, that is only a block away that serves light meals from 11-9 Thursday through Monday, and 11-2 on Sundays. The cafe features paninis, soups, crepes, and salads, as well as coffee, wine and beer. The train between NYC and Montreal stops in Port Henry - if you are arriving by train, please let me know and I'd be glad to pick you up at the station. The apartment is above the Port Gifts and Arts gift shop, which is open Wednesday-Saturday, 11-4, from May through October, or at other times by prior arrangement. Note that while it is a very small village, the building is on a busy street and there may be road noise during the day.
