Cozy Suite with Hot Tub and Pool

Our cozy 3 room in-law suite is situated on 3 private acres with pool, hot tub, extensive gardens, hiking trails, parking, cable and wireless internet. Convenient to University of MD, Washington DC, and surrounding areas. Kids and pets welcome. Local attractions include the National Archives, Smithsonian Museum, Folger Shakespeare Library, Library of Congress, Lincoln Memorial, White House, Washington Memorial, National Mall, Arlington Cemetery, Spy Museum, Holocaust Museum, Annapolis etc. Adjacent to College Park, our in-law suite features a master bedroom, private bathroom, kitchenette and sitting area which converts to a second bedroom. There is private parking for your vehicle(s), and the house boasts beautiful grounds and multiple gardens as well as a pool (seasonal) and hot tub (year-round) for your relaxation. The yard is very kid and pet-friendly -- it forms a natural enclave which makes it easy to keep an eye on your little ones. Unit Note - the unit is an in-law suite attached to the main house where we live. The second bedroom is not a proper bedroom - it is a sitting room with a convertible futon and no door. Also, the bathroom is small with no tub - it’s the only way I could fit a private bathroom in there. I hope the pool and hot tub make up for the small size and lack of tub in the bathroom. Also, the cover photo shows the pool and yard and pool house - not the rental unit which is attached to the main house. Pool Note -- Please note that our pool is outdoor, under trees, and surrounded by greenery. This means that some leaves and sticks will unavoidably be dropping into the pool. The water is clean, the pool is clean -- and I tend to it daily, however, I can skim the pool in the morning and by the evening there will be some leaves -- this is the trade-off for being under trees and completely natural. This suits us, as we are green-minded and like to be surrounded by plants and trees, but it really seems to bother some people. If you are looking for a pristine pool then you should probably go to a hotel with an indoor pool-:). Also, please note the pool is shared with us and our other guests and family. If you need a private pool you may host an event here and then it’s all yours! Pool and hot tub are open 6AM-10PM. Events - If you would like to host an event at our pool or grounds, please send an inquiry. The fee for events is 100$ an hour. Limit 15 people, no DJ or loud music, has to end by 9PM. For weddings and kiddie parties you can invite as many people as you like - and we will adjust the fee accordingly. Events require special arrangements. There is a 50$ pet fee per pet per stay. We do have 4 cats so if your dog is not cat-friendly please keep it leashed and be mindful-:)! Guests will have access to off-street parking, the pool, hot tub, and yard and gardens. Hot tub and pool are open 6am-10pm. It’s a residential neighborhood! Owner is here 24/7 and is a professional chef and musician -- bring your guitar or just sing a few songs with us after your long day. Adelphi is inside the beltway, and minutes from University of Maryland. A serene and historic township, Adelphi is a garden-spot amidst the careening concrete of Washington DC -- a great place to relax after a long day sightseeing or attending University of Maryland activities. Some notable sights local to us are the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art, the National Archives, the White House, Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson Memorials, The National Mall, The Spy Museum, the Holocaust museum, Verizon Center, University of Maryland's Comcast Center, Georgetown, Georgetown University, Old Town Alexandria, Annapolis, Baltimore and the National Aquarium, and Reagan, Dulles and BWI airports. There are trains and buses and metro, but I strongly suggest a car. Pick-up and transportation can be arranged at an extra charge. We also offer local honey and beeswax candles for sale from our own apiary out back, as well as sachets made right here and other treats from the gardens.
