The Treehouse Retreat is in Philomath, OR - less than 5 miles west of Oregon State University. You can explore McDonald Forest, Bald Hill, and Mary's Peak nearby. Staying in a treehouse is the most unique experience! Book yourself an evening and disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature. Be prepared for fancy camping and a composting outhouse. The Treehouse Retreat is good for couples, solo adventurers, and small families. May not be suitable for small children due to ladders. This is basically a unique camping experience in a 100 square foot treehouse. There are electric lights on a dusk-to-dawn timer and a space heater if necessary, a composting outhouse (please remember to use the wood shavings), a shower house with heated outdoor shower, a spring-fed fishing pond with waterwheel and waterfall, trampoline, play field, climbing crows nest, rope swings, chicken coops, and zipline for fun. Clean drinking water is available from the outdoor sink by the shower house if you need to refill a water bottle, wash your hands, brush your teeth, etc. Bring a cooler and easy foods to enjoy, and a flashlight or headlamp for good visibility at night. There is a sleeping loft with an amazing memory-foam mattress perfect for two (we provide linens), and also 2 bunks below with sleeping pads and extra blankets for any additional guests who want to bring sleeping bags, although the top bunk bed is kid-size due to limited headroom. There is a covered fire-pit gazebo (firewood for sale at our Farm Stand), but we can't allow fires if the conditions are very dry and windy. Please inquire. May not be suitable for small children due to ladders, pond, and possible slippery decks when wet. Be prepared for possible cold weather conditions in the winter, and note the outdoor shower will not work if temperatures drop below freezing. Please note the treehouse is in the woods close to our house, so it is a shared driveway and 2-acre yard. It is tucked away in our personal little forest in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. We will be nearby if you need something, but your privacy is first priority. Check-in time is anytime after 3pm, and check-out by 11am. We have a very friendly dog named Miley that roams free in the yard so she will greet you and want your attention. We also have free-ranging ducks that might say hello, so hopefully you enjoy animals as part of your fun visit. Please use the leave-no-trace rule of camping so the space can return to its natural splendor after you leave. Use the right side of the circular driveway for parking near the Farm Stand after the driveway splits, and you will see the lighted entrance of the wooded path to the treehouse if arriving after dark. Free parking for one vehicle. Our dog Miley will probably greet you and show you the way too. Feel free to let yourself in and out of the gated driveway as you need to come and go during your stay. We'll be available if you have any questions. The Treehouse Retreat is in the woods next to our house, with a shared yard and driveway. It was originally built for our kids, but we realized it was too much fun not to share with others. We will completely respect your privacy as everything is pretty self explanatory, but feel free to ask any questions if you need directions or ideas. A "guidebook" with house rules, instructions, and tips is provided in the treehouse. A new pedestrian park with natural playscapes and basketball court borders our property. Several restaurants are within a half-mile: Dirt Road Brewing, Dizzy Hen, Timber Towne Coffee Shop, Eats & Treats BBQ, Vinwood Taphouse, Sissi's Donuts, etc. Free parking for one car. Please close the driveway gate behind you so the dog doesn't wander off. The dog, ducks, and chickens are very friendly. The dog is high energy and will want to greet you and steal your shoes or small items as chew toys if you leave them down below overnight so beware.
