This charming Cape Cod style home sits directly on the new Empire State Trail in a quiet neighborhood in the historic Village of Kinderhook, known for its agritourism, Dutch heritage & Pres. Martin Van Buren. The home features an abundance of natural sunlight & a complete kitchen perfect for cooking delicious meals. An effortless getaway combining modern convenience & upstate charm. Perfect for 1 or more individuals or up to 3 couples, a small group of friends, a family or 2 small families. The home has 3 bedrooms including a large 1st floor master bedroom with a king-sized bed and full bath; it would easily accommodate one of the full-sized air mattresses and/or the pack’n’play. Each of the other 2 bedrooms has a queen-sized bed and is on the 2nd floor; these share a full bath. There is also a 1/2 bath on the 1st floor. The kitchen offers a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, electric range, microwave and dishwasher. Appliances include a coffeemaker, an electric hot water kettle, a toaster, a crockpot and a blender. There are assorted nice pots, pans and skillets and plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, etc. The table seats 8. The counter seats 3. There is WiFi throughout the house. The backyard offers a deck with a table and 6 chairs. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. Guests have access to the first and second floors and the outdoor spaces. Guests can also use the washer and dryer in the basement. Walk out the back door to find the wonderful new Electric Trail (part of the Empire State Trail). It’s for walking, biking, scootering, strollering, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing! What a perfect place to enjoy the country! You will have the space to yourselves. Kinderhook is a lovely small village in the Hudson River Valley, with a marvelous family farm (Samascott’s), two art galleries (The School and Northeast Gallery), a wine bar (Dyad), a craft beers/artisan cheese/charcuterie eaterie (Saisonniere), a designer donut shop (Cosmic’s), a Saturday farmers market (summer only), a fully outfitted public library with WiFi, and more! Opening soon: the Three Sisters Tavern and Old Dutch Inn, offering a terrific bar and restaurant, games and meetup space, and lodging; The Aviary, a classy restaurant; OK Pantry, an old-fashioned general store; Morningstar, coffee barista, books and more; a fine wine shop; and Damsel Garden, flowers and more. The Albany-Hudson Electric Trail section of the Empire State Trail is immediately contiguous to the home so you can walk out the back door and walk/bike/scoot/stroll to Village locations and beyond. When there is snow, it’s perfect for many miles of snowshoeing and criss-country skiing. Located just 15 minutes from Hudson, 2.5 hours from NYC/Boston, and only a few minutes walk to the Village center. AND, it’s located directly ON the new Empire State Trail (for all you walkers and bikers). If you don’t arrive on foot or on your bicycle, you will need a car to reach Kinderhook (taxis, Uber and Lyft are available from the train station in Hudson and from the airport and train station in Albany). There is ample driveway parking at the home. Discount weekly rates are available except for weeks including major holidays. Stays that include any Friday night or Saturday night must include both unless a separate agreement is reached. Last minute bookings are excepted from this policy. Holiday periods including 3-day weekends require 3-night bookings. Example: Monday holiday requires FSatSun night booking. Thanksgiving (if available) minimum is Wednesday night to Sunday. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. No large or loud parties allowed. No pets are allowed.
