It's a historical home built in 1904 and visited by people from all over the country and international visitors. Charming front porch with rockers and just down the street are places to eat and shop. It's the hometown where Harriett Beecher Stowe wrote the book, "Uncle Tom's Cabin", There's plenty of history about the town. All rooms are clean, spacious with all comforts of home. All areas of the house are accessible, except where guests are staying. The are two large sitting rooms with a common tv room, large dining room that seats ten and a full kitchen with all appliances and comforts of home. The outside landscape has three sitting areas with patio furniture, charcoal grill, rocking chairs on the covered porch and a bench to sit in the middle of nature. If your ambitious with nothing to do you can work in the vegetable garden :) I live one mile from the house and am accessible at a moments notice. When you arrive you will be given the wi-fi password and the front door security key access numbers. If a guest needs anything, we will make every effort to accommodate their needs. Antebellum homes surround the Gate House. The lawns are well-kept and neighbors are wonderful. As a matter of fact, my mom and dad live across the street where the first telephone was installed a century ago.; The Gate House was built in 1904 by a man who owned the local lumber company. He constructed it for his family and there havens been many owners. Close to the house are places to eat and shop. All churches are only a block away and within walking distance. Guests usually are coming in their own cars, but if you would need transportation to or from an event or venue, we will accommodate your request for a small fee. Most guests love to walk in the area and visit the small downtown and theatre. We are right in the heart of Central Kentucky. All the major festivals and events are only a short drive away. Universities and Colleges refer guests to our venue all the time. We are a member of the Boyle County Chamber of Commerce and the local Chamber in Garrard County.
