Cabin in the Pines
A Vintage log cabin nestled beside large grove of pines, a western feel but modern comfort. Cabin has lots to offer in a wonderful environment. Hi-speed WiFi, Pet fee paid separate upon arrival, $25 /pet per stay. Wildlife abounds, of a large variety. Lots of water around the area, fish, swim, float, boat or go fishing on Smith lake (5 Miles) Dog fee is $25/stay per dog, pay owner directly please. The log cabin brings out a feel of the West we read about in history, with touches of the local history in the photos throughout the cabin. Yet it has plenty of hot water and a Hi-Flame efficient wood stove or a infrared electric heater. Cabin stays warm in winter and cool in summer because of the thickness of the logs. Comfortable Englander queen bed and just as comfortable twin. Since we live on the Earth and there are critters out there that want to share the indoor space, we take precautions to control the insects and rodents( have never had a rodent yet in cabin but a few ants have made it in) so we use a organic product ( will not hurt pets or humans, but takes care if the insects) the product is the white powder seen around edge of cabin. Will not harm pets. PLEASE do not leave pets alone in cabin, either have in crate ( we have very large one and smaller) or take them with you, unless a parrot in cage (we had visit for 5 weeks once!) We have a outdoor kennel if you dog does not dig. Talk to us and introduce your animal to ours, everyone gets along better that way. There maybe exceptions for a few hours once we meet the animal. Guest have access to the world of nature, many lakes, trails, streams, Views and mountains to climb! Feel free to walk around property. Sharon's Country Store and bakery is about 1/4 south of property with many assorted coffees and teas as well as breakfast burritos and homemade bread (all flour used is non GMO) for their sandwiches, try their Full Nelson sandwich. Huge!!! Our area has many restaurants with grass fed local beef as the main source of meat. Rusty Moose, Under the Sun ( organic food) Moyie Springs gas and restaurant. We have lots of family style that serve wonderful food , home made ice cream, great Oriental food and authentic Mexican. Our local Brewery has a great view of the river and mountains as well good brew! A 8 hole golf course which is well maintained and loved. We have a wildlife refuge and center, has a 5 mile drive through the wet lands, home to many species of wildlife and stopping place for migratory birds. It is a joy in the fall to watch the flight training of the Canada Geese for the long haul ahead, as they practice up and down the rivers honking encouragement to each other. We like a chat, feel it is fun to meet our guests, but we are busy ourselves and are happy to have guests come and go as they please ( please just drive slow as we share the road, have had painted turtles on the road, so please avoid or just remove to side) There are beehives on the property. They are away from the cabin and far enough off the drive to safely walk by, please do not approach hives. I water the plants in front of the cabin, but try to do it when guests are gone. In the winter we keep road plowed and road is flat can get in and out during that season with front wheel drive , if very icey rear wheel can be difficult. The property is country, but close to town, 3 miles, we live on the property too, but cabin is past and off to the side init's own grove of pines, we have a 6' bamboo privacy fence at the edge of our pine grove. We have a fairly close bakery and country store 1/4 mile and Hardware is just past that, a truck stop is at the junction of 95 and 2. Has good hardy food too! All you can eat fish and chips Friday! We have a organic farming couple across the road and many nice quiet families on their well kept acres in the area. But the wonderful mountain views as one drives to the property. Lots to eat, drink and do outdoors here! Occasionally there is a happiness at the local Pearl theater and we are scheduled for our movie theater to be reopened after renovations at a later date. Personal transportation only Please drive slow in and out
