Gorgeous Private Room & Bath - By Metra
Downers Grove is a beautiful, fun, and welcoming suburb of Chicago. You will be staying close to many restaurants, bars, parks, and malls, in a comfortable and quiet residential area. The house is only one block from the Metra to get to downtown Chicago (24 min) or Naperville (15 min). This is a private room with its own entrance and bathroom. The space has been completely remodeled; bed and furniture is brand new. The room also has a large closet and plushy new high-end carpet throughout. Guests love staying here because of my friendly and helpful personality as a host. I’m extremely flexible on check in and check out times, and only ask that my guests use common sense and respect. The house overall is maintained in an extremely clean state. Please help to keep it clean no shorts in the house. I’ll always give super fresh towels, linens, and make sure you have anything you need. The kitchen and living room is shared but you will have your own private entrance, bedroom, and bathroom as you stay. There is a large closet in the bedroom for your things, about 4’ wide and 8’ deep. There is a medicine cabinet in the bathroom to store your toiletries and makeup. There is also storage available in the bathroom in drawers under the sink. The bathroom has a heated fan for a nice hot shower on cold Chicago nights! Plenty of lighting throughout the basement including a dimmable center light in the bedroom, outdoor light from the basement to the yard/driveway, and can lights throughout. Laundry room is shared and is downstairs near the bedroom. Please let me know before doing any laundry. Living room and kitchen is also shared. Large closet in the bedroom is available for your things. If you need more closet space for an extended stay, let me know. Access to the house through the side door, front door, or the door that lets out through the basement to back yard. I definitely like to have a warm welcome and introduction, but most of my hours are spent working. Because of this, I tend to give my guests more space and am not around the house too much. I can help to suggest places to tour and give directions. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions for directions or recommendations! I am here to help! The Downers Grove and Westmont area is part of the beautiful and affluent western Chicago suburbs. Both have downtowns with many neat restaurants, shops, and bars if you would like to go out to eat or are looking for an evening hang out locally. Downtown Downers is 1 mile west, Westmont 1 mile east. The house is walking distance to the Metra, 7/11 & Speedway, the Eagle Restaurant, Burlington Barber Shop, Treehouse Arts Center, and multiple parks and forest preserves. On weekdays, the BNSF Metra line will get you to downtown Chicago in 25 minutes, and on weekends, Metra rides are 50 minutes. The line can also take you west to Naperville and Aurora. This area is great for recreation. Runners will have plenty of nice flat paths including one that will take you through the forest preserve. Waterfall Glen, which features over 9 miles of hilly crushed limestone paths, is only a few miles away. For a nature-renowned treat, visit the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, located just 4 miles from the house. If there’s snow on the ground, try cross-country skiing at the Morton for a very affordable price! For golfers, there are multiple courses within a 5 mile radius, some of which even offer rental clubs, perfect for those traveling. I suggest Downers Grove Golf Club, the oldest golf course in North America, which is only a few miles away in the same town. Metra train is within walking distance per the above description, and is your best option to get to the loop especially on weekdays. Having a car is best for getting around the suburbs, and there is plenty of space in the driveway for you to park.
