We have been so impressed at the craftsmanship we uncover every time we begin a new corner of restoration - a federal post and beam to the core! While you'll see some corners of renovations are still underway, this home is a very special retreat and a relaxing and comfortable space to enjoy! The Colden family was an interesting part of American history and played a significant role in colonial America. (Jane Colden is a favorite of ours!). This house belonged to Thomas, sheriff of Ulster County and grandson of the Lt. Governor of New York. Later a part of what once was the Alex Campbell Milk Co. in the late 1800's, Colden House continued to play a significant role in Hudson Valley history. Huge living, and dining room with 10 foot custom farmhouse table (reclaimed wood salvaged from wooden silos that once stood at the end of the barn) and kitchen on the main floor with full bath (shower) and washer/dryer. Fully equipped GOURMET kitchen with 48” Wolf six burner gas cooktop with griddle, 2 Sub-Zero fridges with 4 freezer drawers and ice maker, 2 dishwashers, Wolf double oven, blender, coffee maker, toaster, pots & pans and all the essentials. Granite island with farmhouse sink. Beverage sink with filtered water tap for both cold and instant hot water. Luxurious soapstone countertops complete the space with a vintage feel. The amazing front porch is a perfect spot for a leisure morning coffee, overlooking huge yard and woods - watch for deer & wild turkeys! On rare occasions a fox has been known to pass by and in the evenings you could hear the owls in the woods! Our personal residence is also on the 30-acre property so we are close by in case you need anything! But we have great respect for your privacy as well and will do our best to make this a perfect get-away for you and your group!
