This spacious one bedroom above garage apartment is located just outside of Lovettsville, VA in Loudoun County at the foot of Short Hill Mountain. The private entrance 650 sq. ft apartment includes a full kitchen, eating area, living room, full bathroom and large bedroom. Several of the best wineries, breweries and award winning restaurants are a mere ten to fifteen minutes drive down tranquil country roads. A short drive to historic Harper's Ferry. Hiking, biking, and river activities abound. Perfect for anyone looking to escape to a tranquil country setting with access to many activities and amenities. Modern and artistically decorated but with a cozy feel. The apartment has its own separate outdoor entrance up a flight of stairs and includes a private deck. Relax on the deck for meals or a glass of wine before heading out on your adventure. The space is ideal for a couple, however there is a full size futon in the closet which can be laid out on the floor of the spacious bedroom or in the living area. There is also a pack n play available. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy your meals as well as a few basic cooking spices. There is so much to see and do near Lovettsville from places of historical interest such as Harper’s Ferry National Park, to outdoor recreation including hiking on the nearby Appalachian Trail (AT), or biking on the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD), Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O), or Mount Vernon trails. My husband Nathan is an avid outdoorsman and AT thru hiker who is more than happy to provide info on local hikes and provide shuttle service if he is available. Interested in custom wood working? Pop into his studio also located on the property and see what he is currently working on. He enjoys sharing his craft with others. For the adventurer in you, take a rafting or tubing trip down the Shenandoah or Potomac Rivers. For those who prefer to shop, the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets are 25 minutes away and antique dealers and specialty shops abound. No visit to Loudoun County is complete without a visit to its wine country. Several of the best wineries, breweries and award winning restaurants are a mere ten to fifteen minutes drive down tranquil country roads. Our dog Reese spends most days outside chasing butterflies and birds and trying to herd the hens, so please be aware that a friendly dog lives here. We also have a barn cat named “Chicken” who roams the property. Check us out on (Hidden by Airbnb) and FB @cottagewinecountry. Guests have access to the whole property. The upper deck is reserved for our guests and you are also welcome to enjoy the lower deck (which includes the grill), stone patio, and yard. Relax in our hammock, swing under a tree, and visit the chickens. Relax and enjoy the views and sounds of the country. We respect our guests privacy although we enjoy running into them in passing and hearing about their adventures. Please feel free to knock on the door with any questions you may have or if we are out we can easily be reached by text or phone call. The location is down a gravel country lane, off the beaten path in a peaceful and natural setting and yet easy to get back out to action in the surrounding towns. Bonus: there is a nice trail nearby that leads to a pebble beach on the river. Directions to hike down to the river from our house: Leave our driveway. Turn left and walk down till you reach a stop sign. Take a left and go about 3/4 mile to where the road ends. Continue walking straight on the trail. Don't go up and don't go right. Stay on the downward left trail to the river. About a 1/4 of a mile down is the ruins of an old mill and beyond that to the right is a nice pebble beech on the Potomac river. Keep an eye out for bald eagles!
