Old Oak Loft

90 min. drive to the west gate of Yosemite(2hours to valley floor) & 30 min to Pinecrest Lake & Dodge Ski Resort. Less than 7 minutes to Westside Pavilion concert venue & Black Oak Casino This is newly renovated (2018) above garage loft with its own private entrance via a spiral staircase. Private entrance, large deck w/ outdoor seating, bathroom & small kitchenette w/ microwave/mini fridge/keurig (NO stove/oven). Above garage loft is attached to our main house via a staircase w/ locked door. The Loft is a 500 sq. ft. studio w/ open floor plan which includes: king size bed, queen pullout sofa bed; a bathroom w/ shower, hairdryer and clothes steamer; a living area with SmartTV including Netflix and Amazon Prime access (log into your own account), Xbox which we use to play DVDs & movie selection, also a few board games/decks of cards; a kitchenette with table/chairs, microwave & toaster, Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, bar sink (There are NO cooking appliances like oven/stovetop, just a microwave & toaster). The 430 square foot outdoor patio has outdoor seating that accommodates 4 guests. In case you have limited cell reception in our area we do have wifi for you to use so you can receive texts and can turn on your phones Wi-fi Calling to send/receive calls. I also have a highchair & porta-crib that I can make available to you upon request. Just let me know when you book and I will have it in the Loft for you before you arrive. I keep a small selection of childrens books & toys in the loft too. Guests have their own set of keys for the Loft that are located in the lockbox. They may come and go as they please. I hope you are able to enjoy the large patio off of the Loft during your stay, the views in the morning & evening are beautiful! No unregistered guests are allowed on property. The below patio & pool area is off limits to guests. Guests park directly in front of the main house garage and the sidewalk leading to the spiral staircase entrance is along the right side of house. (if you download the airbnb app we have a picture guided check in) We keep the interaction minimal but my husband Kaenan and I are always willing & available to help or answer any questions about the area & space. We do live in the lower part of house full time with our children ages 1-8, who enjoy playing outside. Our backyard is below your private patio area so you will hear our children playing outside. We are a 90 minute drive to the Yosemite (Website hidden by Airbnb) takes additional time to get down to the valley floor..a good 30 minutes depending on traffic in park. The roads to Yosemite in parts are windy and steep so slower speeds are needed. We are just a few miles from the Westside Trail - great for walking and taking in the sights. A short drive away in Tuolumne City is Revive Cafe which is a local favorite for coffee and further up the 108 in Sugar Pine is Alicia's Sugar Shack for your pastry cravings! (Her Acai Bowls are amazing too!) For a longer walk I recommend Pinecrest Lake...beautiful anytime of year! Other watering holes and hikes are within driving distance, one of our favorites is Basin Creek for our kids. There's not much to offer for public transit and limited cab service so be prepared to drive wherever you want to adventure. During snow season I highly recommend you have 4x4 or/and chains if you are going to Dodge Ridge, there is chain control check points usually a few miles up the hill from our house when snow is on the ground. Please note it is 90 minutes to Yosemite (Website hidden by Airbnb) does take additional time to get down to the valley floor but there are a few 'viewing' spots to stop along the way to get some incredible photos of the valley and Half Dome. The roads to Yosemite are windy. If you are not used to driving steep windy roads, please do not take the OLD Priest Grade Road. The New Priest Grade road is not as steep and easier on those of us who are easily car sick. Still windy...but not as bad :D The front entrance is a shorter than usual sliding door so PLEASE watch your head when entering & exiting! The ceilings are slanted on the bathroom & kitchenette side of room so again watch your head when needed. The door down to the main house is always locked, enter and exit through the private sliding door/spiral staircase. Rolling clothes rack dining table and coffee table can be moved as needed during your stay, PLEASE do not move the sofa, King bed or green hutch to avoid damage and scratching floors. Absolutely NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND ON PROPERTY this includes vaping - inside or outside anywhere on property! Please make a reservation else where if you are needing to smoke during your stay. There is a small kitchenette area (similar to hotel set ups). Besides a microwave and toaster there is no cooking inside loft (ie..no stove top or oven) If you would like our local restaurant recommendations check out our guide or just ask!
