This charming, 550-sq. ft., one-bedroom apartment on the edge of Bishop borders open land but is still walking distance to the heart of Main Street. Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, this ground-level abode (an apartment is upstairs) has trails out the door and a view from the bedroom you won't believe. The place is perfect for a couple, for two people needing two beds, or for a couple with children. For three adults, it might feel cozy. (RENTAL MUST BE 30+ NIGHTS.) Guests have access to the entire apartment, including a spacious backyard that has a sitting area with a spectacular view of the White Mountains, and a private, fenced patio area at the apartment’s front entrance for your bikes and other outdoor gear. (Bikes not included.) We are hands-off but supportive. If you have questions about anything, please don't hesitate to ask. We have a lot of knowledge about the area, but we appreciate the idea that adventure is about exploring places on one's own terms. Only a handful of blocks away (easy walking distance) is downtown Bishop, where the brewery, coffee shops, gear stores, restaurants, the town's only movie theater--and more--can be found. Right out the bedroom door is open land, where you can take a morning run on trails next to a canal or sip your coffee. The apartment is a perfect home base for nearby adventures: bouldering at the world-class areas of the Happy Boulders, Buttermilk, Sad Boulders (to name a few spots within a 20-minute drive); skiing in Mammoth (only 50 miles away); hiking in the Sierra Nevada or White Mountains (as close as a 20-minute drive); sport-climbing in the extensive Owens River Gorge; and fishing in the Owens River (which flows through the Eastern Sierra). There's a lifetime of adventures to be had here! DESIGNATED PARKING: PLEASE PARK ALONG THE CURB FROM THE HANBY/MAY CORNER TO THE SPOT IN FRONT OF THE SUN GATE. LEAVE THE GARAGE DOOR AREA AND THE REST OF THE CURB TOWARD THE FIELD VACANT. THANK YOU. The apartment has been described as cute, quaint and cozy, like a small European place (words spoken by a French and German couple). In March of 2022, we installed a brand-new electric, ceramic-top stove, and the kitchen is well-stocked. The bathroom is not modern, but it is immaculate and cheery. There is no TV, but there is secure, fast WiFi. Many guests have successfully worked remotely while living here.
