Bowman's Lodging

This home is in a small quiet town that is called Golconda, which is in Pope County Illinois. Pope County Illinois is in the middle of Shawnee National Forest. It has 3 bedrooms with a full size bed in each room. It has a full size bathroom with a shower in the master bedroom and another 1/2 bathroom up front right off of the living room. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook any meal you choose.The living room has lots of room to entertain with chairs for 15 people. We just bought new mattress for the full sizes beds. I also have bought a new flat 32inch screen TV with a DVD player for the living room. We do not have cable or WIFi because we are trying to keep it as affordable as possible. The majority of individuals have the internet on their phone. Our place isn't fancy. It's has the basics. It's the cheapest place in town to stay. You get a whole house. We are trying to provide afforable accommodation for the average working class. This property is only 1/2 mile from Golconda Marina, which is on the Ohio River. Golconda Marina rents boats and has anything you will need to fish and for your boat. Shawnee National Forest surrounds Golconda. There are many attractions and activities guest should consider. The following State parks are worth your time to check out. Garden of the Gods hikes are totally breath taking. Indian Kitchen is an area where Native American Indians would run wild game over the towering cliffs to the bottom of the creek bed and that would turn that area into a "kitchen". It is about a 1/2 mile hike back to the kitchen. Wear good hiking shoes and a bathing suit under your long sleeves and pants. Because you will want to stay all day long swimming and exploring the area. Bell Smith Springs is another State park that has awesome hiking and swimming areas. Dixon Springs Park also has numerous areas to hike and a public swimming pool. Pope County is know as the Sportsman Paradise because of the huge White Tail Deer who live here. If you are interested in deer hunting,my Father in Law has 700 acres he leases out to hunters to bow hunt and for two weeks during shot gun season. Both place have my two thumbs up for awesome food and fun! Every room that is unlocked you will be about to use. If you only pay for two guest, you will only be allowed to go into the master bedroom. If you pay for four guest , the 2nd bedroom will be unlocked, if you pay for six guest the 3rd bedroom will be unlocked. If you pay for eight guest then the air mattress will be set up for you in the living room behind the bar area. yes Very Quiet peaceful neighbors. Rides Mass Transit (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , or (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The TV is a 32 inch color TV with a built-in DVD player and it is hooked up to a converter box. The light gray remote works the converter. Push the on/power button on the light gray remote and then turn the TV on by the remote power button or on the TV. Use the light gray remote to change channels. The DVD player cable is wrapped around the gray box cable behind the TV. Just unplug the gray box cable, and plug in the DVD player cable. The remote for the DVD player is in a zip lock bag along with the batteries. I took all of the batteries out of the remotes so they don't get ruined.
