Welcome to the Lake!

Welcome to the Lake house is a mid-hudson valley getaway home. Located on the shores of Robinson Pond in bucolic Copake NY. Roughly 100 miles north of New York City you'll feel like its 1,000 miles. Consumed by nature, the house is located in a quiet, rural area surrounded by tall trees, breezes, and beautiful stars in the evening. You'll fall in love with this area just as we have and will look forward to coming back in every season. The house is a split-level ranch with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a large wrap-around deck off of the upper level where we spend most of our time in the warmer months. Its great for grilling, cocktails and the firepit once the sun sets. The interior of the house is cozy and comfortable. Upstairs there is a kitchen & dining room, a living room with a view of the lake, two bedrooms, and a full bathroom. Downstairs there is another comfortable living room, a full bathroom and a bedroom. There are TVs with cable in both living rooms and wifi throughout the house. The house will be all yours during your visit. My wife and I are available by phone or text should you have any questions or are looking for recommendations on activities in the area. We live about 75 miles from the house. The house is centrally located with easy access to varied amenities. First, the lake beach is right across the street from the house. You can swim or sun bathe or take the kayak out for a spin on the lake. There are no jet skis or large watercraft allowed (up to 10hp only) and the lake is generally very quiet. Within a 10 minute drive is Copake Country Club on Copake Lake. Here you can do cocktails, fine dining and get in a round of golf on one of the nicest courses you'll find anywhere (public welcome). Copake Lake offers more lively lake activities where you can rent a power boat. Also within 10 minutes is Taconic State Park, the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, Bash Bish hiking trail and the hamlet of Copake with a general store, wine store and several small eateries. Catamount adventure area is about 15 minutes away featuring skiing in the winter and a full ropes course in the summer. Within a 20 minute drive you'll find the hip towns of both Hudson NY and Great Barrington MA. Both towns offer nightlife, historic architecture, shopping and fine dining among many other activities. Within 30 minutes there are several wineries and distilleries, Art Omi sculpture park, Olana state historic site, Lake Taghkanic State Park, the Berkshires and the town of Chatham. Both near and not far there are outdoor opportunities for hiking and biking. This is just an overview of the numerous available activities. Relax on the deck or by the lake or play harder and come home to peace and quiet. Welcome to the rolling hills of Columbia County! Most transportation would be by personal car. The Metro North offers train service on the Harlem line from Grand Central to Wassaic which is about 25 miles from the house.
