Whimsical Carriage House Studio

Standalone Carriage House with private entrance nestled in the heart of historic downtown Troy. Walking distance to all local dining, art, nightlife and wedding venues. Less than a block away from the approach to RPI. Private enclosed beautiful courtyard. Studio apartment on the second floor of a detached Carriage House. The space is cozy and inviting with everything you need for a relaxing stay. All of the essentials are stocked including coffee, tea and snacks, condiments and spices, pots and pans, etc. Blender, Keurig, French Press and even a humidifier. There's a TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as a DVD player and a selection of movies. There's also games and books for your entertainment. The full sized bed is quite comfortable and for added guests, the couch is quite cozy and there is an air mattress and extra bedding. Consider the Carriage House your home away from home. Full access to studio apartment and courtyard I live in the main building if you have any questions or need anything. Downtown Troy has everything you need within walking distance. There are a variety of unique and delicious restaurants, music, art and wedding venues in the business district. My favorite activity is the Troy Farmers Market, every Saturday rain or shine, indoor from November to April in the Atrium just a block away. In the warmer months it's just a couple of blocks away in Riverfront Park. Enjoy local shops that tout a variety of wares and locally crafted goods. My favorites are Anchor No. 5 boutique, The Broken Mold, Annick Designs, and Hippies, Witches, & Gypsies. Enjoy a coffee, a pint, or some chocolate at 518 Craft on the corner of Broadway and 2nd. Stop in next door at the neighborhood pub McAddy’s for a pint and some comfort food. Dress up and reserve a table at Plumb Oyster Bar and be sure to check out the wine bar across the street, Lucas Confectionery. Take in a show at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Take a class or workshop at the Troy Arts Center or the Tech Valley Center of Gravity. Troy has so much to offer! If you're looking for a suggestion of fun events or activities, just let me know and I can point you in the right direction. There is a parking garage less than a block away on Fifth Avenue between Broadway and State that is free nights after 5pm and weekends. Be sure to have your car out by 8am during the week. There's also street parking, just be sure to pay attention to signs for any restrictions. The courtyard is shared with our event space Refuge. Refuge hosts small gatherings, events, and workshops. Guests will be notified if there is event taking place.
