This special "glamping" cabin is built around a live tree!! Yes, there is a living tree in the center of this hexagon shaped cabin. Glamping Cabin - Tree Top has a live tree in the center of the octagon shaped cabin. Tucked up high on the hillside with a flight of stairs to the secluded entry deck that looks out into the woods and a charcoal BBQ for your use. This is a primitive camping cabin (no electricity or en-suite bathroom), and is furnished with a plush memory foam mattress on a platform bed. We provide sheets, pillows, blankets and bath towels for this cabin. We provide A/C via an external power source and propane heat for the colder months. This is a true "glamping" experience. You have access to an indoor bathhouse located near the cabin. The bathhouse has a shower(hot water!), flush toilet and a sink. You will have the entire cabin to yourselves. The shared bathhouse is located at the base of the stairs. I live on the property and am available if you should need anything. Located in the heart of Ashe County, and just 18 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park, close to everything that there is to see and do. Hike, bike, canoe, kayak, explore the quaint shops, drive down quiet country roads, our area has a lot to offer! Healing Springs is a special place. Discovered in 1884 and originally called Thompson's Bromine and Arsenic Springs. The property was then known as Healing Springs Resort in later years, and is now simply called The Cabins at Healing Springs. The natural spring is purported to have mystical healing abilities and rumored to have cured everything from poison ivy to rheumatism, indigestion to ulcers. Today, our cabins are all equipped with a water pitcher so you can enjoy the fresh spring water in your cabin any time during your stay. Most weekends require a 2 nights stay. Check with us if you want to stay just 1 night on a weekend as we can frequently accommodate. All major holidays require a 3 nights stay. Dogs are allowed. Dog fees are weight based. Let us know prior to bringing a dog, please.
