This is a 700sf yurt. Ceilings rise to 14ft, with a large skylight in the centre leading to a light, airy feel. Amenities are basic, but the surrounding extraordinary. Yurt sleeps 4 for a relaxing and affordable 'Glamping' experience, sure to be much more tranquil than Tofino in July. Set on our family 5-acre hobby farm, you are surrounded by beauty and healthy living. Our neighborhood boast biking, hiking, horseback riding, wineries, swimming, paddle sports, quaint shops and fine dining. The yurt is furnished with King-sized bed and twin sofa-bed pullout. Folding camp-style cots are also available. The dining table seats six and the basic kitchenette features coffee percolator and kettle, toaster oven and single convection hotplate. Basic cookware and tableware is also supplied. Outside is the propane heated shower, picnic table, and our newest feature, a cob pizza/bread oven with a heated bench. We do not offer wifi - this is your opportunity to unplug and rest from the immense distractions of our busy world. Guests can wander the fields and pastures, interact with our friendly farm animals and view our extensive gardens and orchards. The open area in front of the yurt is for guest use, perfect for frisbee, throwing a ball, or family soccer. Please note that hosts are mask exempt and will not be wearing masks. Contact free stay is possible. All details will be explained in a binder prepared for guests. Cobble Hill and area really have it all. Wine tours, bike tours. Swimming holes, 18-holes. In Cowichan Bay you can buy fresh fish, browse quaint shops, enjoys handmade ice cream, or go whale watching. The Totem tour in Duncan, the murals in Chemainus. And if you want your city fix, Victoria is an hour south, boasting the Royal BC Museum, Parliament, and lots of shopping. Conveniently located midway between Victoria and Nanaimo, the Cowichan Valley is Canada's 'warmland.' It's a great starting point for epic day trips and ideal for winding down at night. The warm evenings are quiet except for the late summer hum of crickets and the skies are dark, perfect for star gazing. A few minutes away hides one of the gems of the area, the Quarry Nature Park which boasts an off-leash dog park and the Cleasby Bike Park skills area. Hike or cycle to the top of Cobble Hill Mountain for views of the Saanich inlet, Victoria airport and Shawnigan Lake. After, cool off with a swim in the Koksilah River or Shawnigan Lake. The closest transit stop is 3km away, in Cobble Hill. Various transits and coaches travels from the cities, airports and ferries. This space is ideal for guests seeking a quiet retreat and peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle. No parties or recorded music outside of yurt. No visitors unless arranged at booking time with approval.
