Summary: Modernist Cabin - Joshua Tree was the inspiration of longtime Joshua Tree residents with a love of art and architecture. It’s ideal for a romantic escape or a solo retreat with awe-inspiring desert surrounds. Highlights include: ★ Adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park (direct walking access!) ★ Open layout living space + 1 bathroom ★ Unique outdoor shower and bathtub ★ Full kitchen ★ Designed by noted architect Ron Radziner ★ Professionally hosted by Homestead Modern™ ** Cleaning Protocols *** As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit. The Space: This exquisite jewel box of a cabin was designed by one of the leading modernist architects of our time, Ron Radziner. Designed to embrace the enormous, weathered boulders on the 5-acre site, Modernist Cabin - Joshua Tree has been featured in The LA Times, Western Interiors Magazine, Cozy Hideaways, and Dream Retreats. Every element of the home has a purpose and has been designed to marry function and design. Once you step inside the cabin, you feel like you are all alone inside the national park. “An incredible rental that we’ll never forget.” -Recent Review From the private outdoor lounging area, you can walk directly into Joshua Tree National Park and hike to your heart’s content before retreating to the luxury of the cabin. -BEDS & BATHS- No expense was spared in outfitting this minimalist masterpiece with all of the comforts that travelers expect from high-end homes. The efficient floor plan includes a full bed and custom built-ins with ample storage space. The bathroom features a one-of-a-kind outdoor shower and bathtub that truly must be experienced to understand. “The house is just the right size for a couple- like a beautiful shell that holds you. It was lovely.” -Recent Review -KITCHEN & DINING- In the kitchen, you’ll find a gas stove, oven, fridge, and freezer. Extras include a kettle, a drip coffee maker, a French press, a blender, and toaster. Whip up a quick breakfast before a hike or cook a romantic dinner to enjoy as the sun sets. Inside, the dining table seats 4, and there’s a breakfast bar with 2 stools. Or, opt for al fresco dining - the outdoor table is on the patio behind the house. We are strong supporters of the local economy, providing Joshua Tree Coffee Company coffee and allowing local artists to display their work on the walls. -OUTDOOR SPACE- The patio behind the house includes a table and chairs, plus some chaise loungers that are perfect for soaking up the desert rays. Grill up something delicious on the barbecue, or take a refreshing dip in the cowboy tub. From the house, you’re within walking distance of the Park, which offers endless trails and scenery. -ESSENTIALS- The cabin has WiFi, heating, and air conditioning, plus parking for 2 vehicles. Because of the remote location, please note that the WiFi may be slower than you’re used to. Please contact us if you have any questions about the home or the area in general. We hope to welcome you soon! Guest Access: You will have the entire house and property to yourself. The Neighborhood: This area is renowned for its forever vistas of the Mojave Desert and its proximity to the national park. The quiet neighborhood offers a tranquil vibe and big, open skies, so you’ll feel like you’re miles away from it all, but plenty of restaurants and things to do are within a short drive. When you’re ready to hike, bike, or climb, Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is a 13-minute drive away. You can find great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do in nearby Joshua Tree Village; here are a few recommendations: • Start your day at Joshua Tree Coffee Co., known for their famed coffee made from locally roasted beans (6-minute drive) • Marvel at the handiwork at the World Famous Crochet Museum (5-minute drive) • Pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers' Market, open Saturdays (8-minute drive) • Find your next favorite read at Space Cowboy Books (7-minute drive) • Perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon (7-minute drive) Up for a day trip? Don’t miss these area highlights - they’re worth the drive. • Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (15-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art. • Pioneertown (20-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue. • The Integratron (25-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. • Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. • Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto. Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within close driving distance: • Closest supermarket: Vons (15-minute drive) • Closest liquor store: Mike's Liquor (7-minute drive) • Closest pharmacy: Star Pharmacy (9-minute drive) • Closest bank: U.S. Bank (14-minute drive) • Closest gas station: 76 (7-minute drive) Getting Around: Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain. Other Things to Note: • EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees. • DOGS: Pets are not permitted. • SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us! • CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program. • ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain • CO-HOSTED BY HOMESTEAD MODERN Interaction with Guests: Our property manager, Homestead Modern, is local and has staff available at all times.
