Pine Place offers peace and quiet. No TV or internet connection here, just the outdoors. Enjoy viewing wildlife on the ponds or flitting through the vegetation from the three-season sunroom. Take advantage of nearby county, state, and federal public lands to go hiking, cross-country skiing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and more. Explore the downtown of the nearby town of Phillips. Or just relax at the house. Whatever you choose to do, we hope you leave Pine Place feeling rejuvenated! This private home is nestled among 14 acres of wetlands and just 4 miles from Phillips (approximate population of 2,500). The Phillips School Forest trail is only two minutes away and provides 3.5 miles of hiking, biking, snowshoeing, birdwatching, and skiing – groomed for classic and skate skiers. Make Pine Place your snowmobile destination! Trail access is only 0.25 miles down the road connecting you to over 500 miles of trails that meander through the beautiful Price County and Chequamegon National Forests. In the summer, connect to ATV and off-road trail systems right from the doorstep. Price County offers 5 different off road trail systems, some of which are open during winter. Contact the Phillips Chamber Office for trail details. Make Pine Place your kayaking, canoeing or fishing base camp. Nearby lakes with public boat launches include Solberg Lake, Musser Lake, and the entire Phillips Chain. Solberg Lake is an 859-acre impoundment on Squaw Creek, a tributary to Duroy Lake, the upstream-most lake in the Phillips Chain-of-Lakes on the Elk River system. The marsh/pond at Pine Place can be explored by kayak or canoe (not provided). Would you rather just unwind? Enjoy a secluded view from the three-season sun room. Take a walk through our native prairie gardens. Listen to frog calls and bird songs while kayaking the property's chain of wetlands. Strap on your snowshoes to identify animal tracks with use of our many field guides or simply pick raspberries in the garden, perhaps apples from the newly established orchard. Use Pine Place as a launch point to some of the nation's best grouse hunting. And don't forget, our guests rave about the birds so bring your binoculars to help identify our feathered friends - birding literature provided. Although this home is one bedroom and one bathroom, the open floor plan provides an abundance of space. A full kitchen and dining area, bar with seating, an office area, and large living room with queen size futon for added guests. A single bed is also available in the three-season sunroom for those warm nights. Gas grill and tools are also provided for outdoor cooking. We also stock camp chairs if you'd like to sit outside around a campfire. During warm weather, there is one additional twin bed located in the three-season room, which can be used if you like to wake up with the sun. There is neither a television nor internet service, so get ready to unplug and truly relax. We want to share the Northwoods with all those that have a passion for the outdoors.
