Buffalo Springs Distilling Company
On the Bourbon Trail The Buffalo Springs Distilling Company got it's start in 1868. It closed and it's warehouses were emptied out by the 1970's. This building is one of the last structures left on the site. This historic building was the main office and gatehouse for visitors to the distillery, so we can offer one bedroom due to the size of the structure. Queen size bed in the bedroom. There’s also a Queen Air Mattress that can be utilized in a pinch for folks that are staying at least a week We are located in Central Kentucky and close to many destinations. We are 22 minutes from Buffalo Trace Distillery. We are 21 minutes from the KY Horse Park. We are 42 minutes from the Ark Encounter. We are 33 minutes from Rupp Arena. We are 34 minutes from Keeneland Race Course, and 34 minutes away from the Bluegrass Airport! Bourbon History buffs will love the opportunity to stay overnight in an old distillery building. This lodging has a large main room, fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a Queen bed, bathroom, and laundry area. There's a City Park almost adjacent to the rear of the property and a family restaurant, stores, bank, post office, gasoline, and Police Station within walking distance. The entire residence is offered for guests to enjoy a private retreat. When we travel we don't look forward to staying in someone's extra bedroom and we don't believe our guests want that either. ( different strokes for different folks....we acknowledge that some folks do enjoy that, of course). The host is always available by phone. This area is where the small town of Stamping Ground began. Walk over to the Park and you'll see Buffalo Springs. This freshwater Spring provided water for the entire town. This Spring has never run dry. This Spring was also the elixir that made the Buffalo Spring's Distilling Company's Bourbon taste so well. If you love Bourbon, history, small towns, or simply unique lodgings, we think you will love this little Kentucky Limestone retreat. Everything you actually need is within walking distance in Stamping Ground. The City of Georgetown is 8 miles (approx. 10 minutes) away. Other than our excellent Poor Man's Cafe in Stamping Ground, guests will need to travel to Georgetown for dining, beer, movies, shopping, etc. The City of Lexington is 16 miles (approx. 20 minutes) away. Franfort, the Capitol city of Kentucky is 10 miles away. One Queen bed, and a Queen air mattress that self-inflates that’s for guests that are staying for at least a week. Ideally, the Distillery Office is for two folks, though. Our guests can rely on freshly laundered sheets, a memory foam mattress, a firm memory foam pillow and also a soft pillow (My Pillow, as seen on TV :) Due to Covid-19, we are also using enhanced cleaning methods. One being a UV sanitizer light that will be utilized especially for the most touched surfaces, such as remotes, light switches, door handles, faucet handles, etc.
