High-end glamping in the Keweenaw Peninsula. This tiny house/cabin features two lofts with queen-sized beds, a wood burning fireplace, dock with paddle boat on two acre pond, access to the Pike River and 20 acres of land for hiking and recreation. Cook in the kitchen or over the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a wood-fired sauna and cool off with a dip in the pond. Bring a fishing rod and catch dinner out of the pond or the river! No running water but indoor composting toilet and a rain barrel/sink. There is no running water at the camp. There is a rain barrel and outdoor sink for dishes, hand washing, and rinsing off. There is a composting toilet in the cabin with specific directions for use. I live about 5 minutes away from the camp, so I am available most of the time during non work hours. The camp seems off-the-grid, but it is located just 12 minutes driving from Michigan Tech University, the town of Houghton, abundant restaurants, shopping, and things to do -- but most importantly, the gateway to the Keweenaw! There is a walking path to the bridge over the Pike River which meanders through the property. There is a Krist gas station and mini-mart just 2 miles away for the essentials, and Houghton is just 12 minutes away.
