The area is 30 minutes to Tahlequah and 30 minutes to Muskogee. There are several things to do around the lake. Our favorite hangout spot is a short boat ride to Cypress Cove. They have live music, heated fishing dock, food for the catfish and ducks, and excellent food and spirits. There is also Sequoyah State Park. It’s a 20 minute drive or short scenic kayak trip. They have golf, horse back riding, hiking and biking trails, boating and fishing, as well as a nature center with a bald eagle, owl and other wildlife. Catch them at the right time for animal feeding.
