Located on a quiet circle drive, this suite is a retreat just minutes from Benedictine College, downtown Atchison, and the Missouri River. This newly renovated space spans the entire basement and includes a bedroom, living room, bath, and a separate entry. Do note there is no door a the bottom of the basement stairs, so our stay is considered a "room in a house" but has much more to offer! A coffee bar is provided for guests along with Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime streaming. Guests are welcome to use the entire basement at their leisure. The suite includes a bedroom, family room, and bathroom. There is a separate entrance through the garage for guest convenience. Please note that the basement living area *does not* have a door, it is open to the stairs and therefore our living space above. As a guest, you might occasionally hear sounds from the host family (we have small kids who occasionally like to sing Frozen songs upstairs) and we may hear sounds from the suite (aka this is not the place for you to have a rendezvous with your significant other, unless you’d like to be the reason we give birds and bees talk to our young kids. Keep your behavior PG please). Please do not feel like you have to hide in the basement. If our stair light is on, please feel free to ask questions or interact with us. Also, know we take your privacy seriously and won't interrupt you without notice. We are a pet-free, smoke-free home. Basement suite only. Our family lives upstairs. Guests can enter privately through the garage entry door. We enjoy socializing with our guests and giving recommendations for local amenities. We leave the light on in the stairwell if we are open to socialize. If it is off we are prepping for bedtime or enjoying family time alone. We love our quiet circle drive! It’s the perfect blend of town and country living. Our street is filled with large trees and one of the county lakes is just over the hill from our front yard. It’s best to travel by car in Atchison. We only have a few Uber drivers available, so the service is limited. If you need an Uber during your stay please mention that in your booking message so we can connect you directly to a driver (it's a small town, we literally have a driver's number). Also, the city offers historic and haunted trolley tours. Our home is a short 20-30 minute drive from Weston, MO, St. Joseph, MO, and Fort Leavenworth, KS. Also, the Kansas City International Airport is approximately 45 minutes away.
