Mardi Gras Room - White Oak Manor

The White Oak Manor is a 1920’s home built by the first county extension agent in the Greek revival style that was so popular during the turn of the century. We are located in the Historic District of Jefferson, the Bed & Breakfast Capital of Texas. Come take a step back in time when life was not so fast-paced and hectic. Relax and “sit a spell” on our front porch and relish the peace and quiet where you’ll most likely see a family of squirrels jumping in the tree tops or the bright red cardinals flying about. The Mardi Gras is on the second floor on the West side and has plenty of windows which make it oh-so-light and airy, a perfect personal retreat for the time you’re here. Unwind in one of the cozy chairs and catch up on the reading you’ve been meaning to do, or just relax with a glass of wine before crawling into the king-size bed and catching a movie for the evening on the TV. During the cooler nights, you might enjoy a splendidly romantic escape just watching the dancing flames from the electric fireplace anytime of the year. In the morning, awaken your senses with a bubble bath or a shower in the claw-foot tub/shower combination. Special features of the Mardi Gras room include an electric fireplace, king-size bed, claw-foot tub/shower combination, and an armoire. Guests can enjoy the dining room, parlor, front porch with many seating areas and a porch swing and the whole yard if you wish. We are here if and when you need us. Very quiet neighborhood but of course we are only a 4 block walk to downtown. We serve a fresh hot breakfast everyday at 9am. All guest rooms have Kureg coffee makers and small refridgerators.
