Perfect location for UGA/Athens visitors. The house is one block from Main Street in historic downtown Watkinsville and only a 15 minute (8 mi) drive to downtown Athens. Upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, hallway bathroom, & breakfast are provided. This room offers two twin beds in an upstairs bedroom with a hallway bathroom. Fresh linens, towels, and handmade soap are available. Coffee and tea are available. The use of a refrigerator is also available. One cat and small dog are inside/outside pets. Smoke-free home. Guests may enjoy a living room downstairs and side porch. Parking is available in front of the house. Free Wi-Fi for guests. Sorry, no TV. Watkinsville is a charming, quaint Southern town with a historic main street of shops. It is very safe to walk around. You are literally a hop, skip, and jump to local shops, eateries, and Ashford Manor. Guests can leisurely walk 5 minutes to the Ashford Manor, to local Jittery Joe's coffee shop, Kiki's bakery, Girasoles, Chops and Hops, Barberito's, and Mirko Italian restaurants. Watkinsville, considered "The Artland of the Southeast," hosts a variety of art events. Saturdays from spring to fall, a local farmer's market is open to the public. Cycling enthusiasts (with your own bicycle) can contact Sunshine Cycles shop to join a weekly ride through idyllic, rural Oconee County. The State Botanical Gardens, along the Oconee River, is only 10 minutes driving toward Athens. Walking is easy and parking is accessible. There is no public transit.
