To get to the lake from the house, there is a path along the tree line straight out from the house. Go to the right and follow the wooded path to the point and lake. There is a public boat ramp just a quarter of a mile past the driveway to the house. Cravens is the nearest grocery store and it is up the hill, take a left (west) on Hwy 16 and go about two miles into Fairfield Bay. Cravens will be on your right, next to a Dollar General. There are several shops and restaurants close by in Fairfield Bay. Janssen's is another great restaurant which is to the right (east) on Hwy 16 a few miles down the road in Edgemont, toward the town of Greers Ferry. The closest restaurant is the ‘Little Red Restaurant’ in the Indian Hills golf clubhouse, just inside of the Fairfield Bay village limits. There is also access for the hiking and new network of 90 miles of NEW UTV trails nearby in Fairfield Bay that you can drive to by car or ATV. See (Website hidden by Airbnb) for more and we have info and maps at the cabin in a binder. While our property connects to the lake on three sides, the actual shoreline is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. You will see trees marked with white bands that outline the division between the protected shoreline and our property. The Corps of Engineers property is mandated to be left in a natural state. This means a beautiful, clean lake but also care should be taken when walking or jumping into the lake. There are things like boulders and stumps all around our shoreline and in the water so please take care if hiking or swimming around.
