This is our cottage situated on the beautiful Mayfield Lake! On your vacation you will have a sandy beach, 2 kayaks, paddle boat and a row boat. Bring your bikes to ride the FJ &G rail trail and /or your hiking boots to hike as many of the 13 Adirondack trails close to camp. We are also 35 minutes from Saratoga and 35 minutes from 2 casinos. Owner lives on premise to help with all questions and needs Winter we have snowmobiling and ice fishing. Also x country and down hill skiing close by This cottage is on the same property as the owners house. There is 120ft of beach that is split up two ways. This is a smaller lake that spills into the Great Sacandaga Lake. There is no access from one lake to another. There are no jet skis or large motor boats. The lake is peaceful, calm and quiet. It is perfect for kayaks, canoes, swimming and fishing. (Website hidden by Airbnb) To access your designated sandy beach you will walk down a grassy hill. It is approximately 75 yards from the top of the hill to the water. The slope in the water is gradual, with no "drop offs". The bottom is sandy with no gravel or stones. The views are gorgeous. The water temp is ideal for swimming usually in late June through the middle of September. You will have your own designated kayaks, a rowboat, and a paddle boat. There is a canoe available upon request. Life preservers are expected to be worn at all times in the boats. They are provided. Mayfield Lake has large mouth bass, pickerel, panfish and northern pike. You can fish from the beach or take out a boat. This property is located 8 minutes from the nearest city of Gloversville. There are groceries, hospitals urgent care centers, drug stores, dollar stores, and restaurants. (the restaurants also deliver here too! (Website hidden by Airbnb) If guests would like to spend the day on The Great Sacandaga Lake boating, Marty has information on the local marinas and will assist in getting reservations made. If a guest would like to bring their own motor boat to use on the Great Sacandaga, there are local boat launches 5 minutes away. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Use of boats and swimming after sunset is forbidden. Marty is here to greet you on your first day in. He will show you around, talk with you about the area and answer any questions you may have. He will introduce you to our two doggies and if you should bring a dog, he will get them all aquainted with one another. We live here on the property year round, so you will see us going in and out running our daily lives. Marty is your full time host. He is available all the time. The neighborhood is situated on a private dead end dirt road with approximatley 10 houses. The neighbors are all friendly and respectful. NICE dogs are allowed, no biters, no aggressive dogs....we expect all of the dogs to be under control by the owners and be able to playfully and peacefully interact with other animals. We expect your dogs to stay on this property, they are not allowed to roam the neighborhood. You must clean up after your dog, we have a shovel available for this task.
