The Lexington Catskills House
Believed to be originally built in the 1860s, this fully renovated farmhouse in the heart of the Catskill Mountains sits on 11 acres of woods and open fields. The 3+ bedroom home features brand new electricity, plumbing and heating. With exposed beams and original wide-plank hardwood floors, guests enjoy views of mountains and meadows in the comforts of a clean, well-equipped home just minutes from Hunter and Windham. The home features many pieces of historical period appeal: a slipper, claw-footed bathtub on the main floor, an original 1930's radio cabinet in the master suite bathroom (now providing extra storage for towels and toiletries), and wooden church pews in the rear entry mudroom and kitchen dining nook. The welcoming kitchen offers ample space for preparing meals and entertaining, and includes a sub-zero freezer/refrigerator, a double oven, and a marble-topped island. The home sleeps eight guests comfortably, with ten guests being the maximum. Guests have use of the first and second floors of the home and are free to enjoy the acres of fields and woods. Entrance into the barn is prohibited. Hosts will be available for any questions or concerns before and throughout your stay via cell phone. Sitting on eleven hillside acres outside of town, the house offers plenty of peace and quiet while still providing exceptional access to the year-round activities of The Catskill Mountains. For dinning, head to the charming mountain towns of Windham, Hunter, or Tannersville, all within an approximate 15-minute drive. Brandywine Restaurant and the Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House are just two local favorites. Enjoy skiing at Hunter, Windham or Belleayre, and be back at the house in time for dinner. Some of the best hiking in the northeast also can be found in the area, and for all abilities, from Kaaterskill Falls and North-South Lake Campground to The Hunter Mountain Fire Tower and the infamous Devils Path. Groceries at Jim's Great American are available just up the road in Prattsville. Please know that we allow dogs but you must notify us when making an inquiry or request to book.
