The Shady Bear Cabin

After a complete renovation, we decided the cabin would be perfect for Airbnb. It's completely separate from the main house and offers both of us a great deal of privacy. It is also warm and cozy yet extremely comfortable. Please be aware that we have dogs on the property that have a great deal of freedom. If you are not comfortable with dogs, please do not book this cabin. If you are, we hope to see you. DURING THE PANDEMIC WE WILL BE FOLLOWING AIRBNB'S ENHANCED CLEANING PROTOCOL. Come and stay in our guest cabin on our 6 acre retreat. Peace and quiet abound as you sit on your private front porch and enjoy the nature at your feet. Depending on availability, you'll leave with a half dozen fresh eggs laid by our chickens behind the cabin. The cabin is equipped with a small kitchen area (no stove but with fridge, sink and microwave), full bath, living room and adjoining sleeping area. It has heat, AC, and a wood burning stove. There is also a 40" HDTV with all the cable channels (including HBO) and a nice selection of DVD's to watch. A full size airbed is available upon request. All this and only 10 minutes to downtown Frederick with all its restaurants and shops. Washington, DC is less than 1 hour drive or you can take the nearby commuter train to Union Station in DC. . We have a small pond on the property with a paddle boat. Guests are free to enjoy the pond or use the boat if they please. The pond is home to catfish, large mouth bass, perch and turtles, as well as our two Emden geese. We do not allow any fishing. My wife and I are available to help you enjoy the area. We are here to answer any questions or to make recommendations for restaurants or other interesting places to visit. We live just outside of Frederick, MD in a semi-rural setting. Yet getting to downtown Frederick takes only 10 minutes and we are very convenient to commuting routes to Washington, DC and Baltimore. The best of both worlds. Driving your car around here is a breeze but if you don't want to drive into DC, there's a very convenient commuter train that will take you to Union Station downtown. Pets are not permitted as we have dogs on the property. Nevertheless, we will consider certain pets on a case by case basis.
