Eagle's Nest by the Shore

This two story, private, detached guest house offers views of Lake Erie's beautiful sunsets and is only minutes away from some of the area's most excellent wineries on the Lake Erie Wine Trail. Upon entering the guest house property, you will find a first level patio and a second level deck. There is seating on the patio and also a swing. A grill is available for your use. Guests can enter the house by using a unique key code which is provided 24 hours before arrival. The first level of the property includes a full bathroom and game room. The game room has two bunk beds, a table and chairs, a couch, a pool table, and plenty of board/card games. Upstairs, guests will find a combined kitchen and living room. The living room offers two couches, a flat screen TV, and access to the second level deck. The kitchen has all new appliances (fridge, dishwasher, microwave), plenty of glasses/plates/silverware, a breakfast bar, and a four person table. There is also a coffee maker and a blender available for your use in the kitchen. The second level deck has seating to enjoy your view of the lake. Down the hall are the two upstairs bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed, closet, dresser, and flat screen smart TV. Across from the second bedroom is the upstairs full bathroom. There are also plenty of towels and linens located in the upstairs hallway for your use. At times we take care of our son and daughter in law's cattle dog mix named Lou. She's very friendly and we keep her close to the house, but she may sneak away to roam. She loves people and if you give her a snack she'll be your friend for life. Please let us know prior to your stay if any possible interaction with Lou is an issue. We will be sure to keep her in her pen. Guests have access to the guest house property and the shared subdivision beach access road. Guests are allowed to use the field located directly across from the guest house and barn. We have just added a fire pit (with available wood for burning) which guests will also have access to. Guests are not allowed access to the barn, garden, or any other properties in the subdivision. We (Richard and Linda) live nearby to the guest property, so if you need anything at all please do not hesitate to contact us. Our son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Jess, are also available to help and are listed as the co-hosts for this property. The key code will allow you access which means it isn't necessary for us to be around when you check in and out. We are certainly happy to help and offer suggestions for anything you might be curious about in the area. This guest house is located in historic North East, Pennsylvania on Route 5 and on the shore of Lake Erie. Guests can enjoy the many wineries North East has to offer, or drive a short distance to New York's wine trail. While staying at our property, guests will enjoy taking in a famous Lake Erie sunset either from the second level deck, or from the subdivision's beach access. Please be aware that Lake Erie's water levels are currently very high, so there isn't much "beach" at this time on the property. Freeport Beach and North East Marina are approximately one mile in either direction from the guest house. Freeport Beach has a much larger beach and a playground for the kids. Wineries: Penn Shore, Mazza Vineyard, Arrowhead, Arundel Cellars and Brewing, Courtyard Winery, Heritage Wine Cellars, Lakeview Wine Cellars, Presque Isle Wine Cellars, South Shore Wine Company, Mazza Five&20 Winery, Johnson's, Noble Winery (the view of the lake from here is FANTASTIC), 21 Brix, Quincy, and so many more! Local Restaurants: Freeport, Johnny B's, Harvest, Skunk and Goat, Pub 20, Noosa, Speed-eez, Michael's Pizzeria, LaCasa de Pizza, Straw Hat, Little Shop of Donuts, The Bean Coffeehouse, Rusty Wheel, Meeder's Shopping: Orton's Fruit Market, Burch Farms Country Market and Winery, Klenz Farms, Sander's Market (grocery store), CVS, Grape Country Market (all things grape and Welch's!) Attractions: Lake Erie Speedway, Green Meadows Golf Course, Lakeside Golf Course, Presque Isle Downs and Casino, Cinemark Tinsletown movies, UPMC Park (baseball), Erie Insurance Arena (hockey and basketball), Waldameer Amusement Park, Splash Lagoon Indoor Waterpark, Vertical Jump Trampoline Park Peek'n Peak Resort is a 25 minute drive and has so much to offer! Golfing, mini golf, disc golf, aerial adventure ropes course, giant dual zip lines, soaring eagle ride, segway, mountain biking, spa, snow skiing, cross country skiing, tubing, indoor and outdoor pools, excellent restaurants.
