You’ll love our place because of the coziness, close proximity to the freeway (I-96), the peacefulness of country living, and stunning views that surround our three acre farmstead. Our place is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and those visiting family and friends nearby. If you like wide open spaces but still want to be close to civilization, you'll love it here! Clean, peaceful, and quiet home that is only a few minutes from I-96 and approx. 35 minutes from Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Metro Detroit. We're on the fringe of the beautiful historic city of Howell in Marion Township, surrounded by sprawling horse ranches and small farms. Our farm neighbors are conscientious of cleaning up, meaning you won't smell any typical nasty farm odor here. Your room is comfortable and cozy, and includes a queen-sized bed with Sealy Gel Foam mattress, desk with chair and lamp, in-room fridge, high-speed internet, and Internet TV. The decor exudes a balance of Western and Eastern peacefulness. The bathroom is newly remodeled with chair height toilet, resin top vanity, and spacious walk-in glass shower with seat. Guests have exclusive use of the private Full Bath w/tub and shower, and full use of the Kitchen, Family Room/Library, which has 2 comfy recliners. Please note: due to severe allergies, we cannot accept pets or other animals. In the spring through fall, guests are welcome to use our "hummingbird deck" off the Family Room which offers cozy seating, a brick patio, and a bbq. Just bring your food and cook it, and we'll supply the charcoal. In the summer, you're in for a real treat as the deck is partially surrounded with flowers and foliage that hummingbirds and butterflies love. In all seasons you'll enjoy bird watching at our feeders off the "Hummingbird Deck", and watch deer prancing in the field right from your bedroom window. In the early summer there are often baby deer congregating with their mamas. We love meeting people and interacting with our guests as often or as little as the guest chooses. We are happy to assist with directions and local recommendations such as restaurants, bars, and activities. Our neighborhood is peaceful and quiet with our closest neighbor approx. 5 acres away. The area abounds with small farms and horse ranches. If you like hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and nature, there are two great state parks just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The huge 11,000 acre Pinckney Recreation Area is only 13 miles south of us, while the 5,000 acre Brighton Recreation Area is only 7 miles southeast. A bit further out is Hudson Mills Metropark (17 miles south), Island Lake Recreation Area (22 miles) and Kensington Metropark (25 miles) southeast. We have a well-stocked party store that's open 7 days a week about 3 minutes away. Also, their pizzas are quite tasty! Additionally Howell Tanger Outlet Mall is only 5 minutes away. Please carefully follow the check-in instructions so you arrive at the proper entrance and won't be locked out! Q: Are there any exceptions to bringing pets/animals? A: No. Sorry, but we can't allow pets or animals. Q: Is this space completely private, meaning there are no shared areas? A: No. My wife and I live in the home and we share the kitchen and utility room with guests. Guests have their own private room and bathroom, of course.
