The Governors Cottage

This charming cottage is located on an 85 acre farm on the outskirts of Ancaster just 10 minutes west of Dundas Ontario. Our guests can enjoy a very peaceful stay here. The sunsets are magnificent and an abundance of stars can be seen at night. The neighbours are cows and horses and our visitors include deer, rabbits, and lots of birds. We also offer a vegetable and herb garden so our guests can help themselves to fresh produce (when in season) during their stay. We purchased this farm 17 years ago and have been lovingly restoring it since then. The main house was built in 1877 with the cottage added to the property in the 1950’s. This rental has been fully renovated and professionally decorated. We love our trees and gardens and have been designing and adding on to the landscape for years. When you arrive you will be greeted with fresh fruit and a welcome basket. We will show you around your accommodations and then leave you in peace but always be available for any questions or a warm cup of tea. For those that enjoy the outdoors, the rail trail is a 5 minute bike ride away, the bruce trail is a 9 minute drive and we are surrounded with conservation areas including Dundas conservation area, Christie Lake and many more. We are also a quick drive to Hamilton airport, shopping malls, grocery stores and the beautiful town of Dundas. When you are done your exploring you can return to the peace, quiet and fresh air of your country retreat.
