Welcome to this beautiful and historic home in the Traprock Valley, with hiking, road/mountain biking, kayaking, and beach opportunities nearby. Winter offers cross-country & downhill skiing and snowshoeing. The home is conveniently located one mile from Lake Linden, 4 miles from Laurium-Calumet, 12 miles from Houghton/Hancock (and Michigan Tech), 30 miles from Mount Bohemia, 40 miles from Copper Harbor, and 80 miles from Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. You are sure to enjoy this bright and sunny home with beautiful hardwood floors, a cozy living room, spacious kitchen, lots of windows with views of forests and fields (often with deer), and 96 acres to explore. Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire house and outdoors. The 2 bedrooms and private guest bathroom are upstairs, along with a comfortable sitting area. Host lives in the home, but is often away for work or travel. Coffee & tea are provided. Guests are welcome to store items in the fridge, and prepare their own meals & clean up after themselves. The house, built in 1905, is in a pastoral setting. Across the road, you can watch herds of 20+ deer. Sandhill cranes are frequent visitors. Occasionally, the birds have to share their suet feeder with a furry friend! There is lots to do here in every season, from mountain-biking, touring and snow biking, to kayaking, boating, beach-walking, hiking, cross country & downhill skiing, ice skating, and snow-shoeing, as well as visiting Copper Country/Keweenaw Peninsula historic and geologic sites. Check for performances at the Rosza Center for Performing Arts and the Calumet Theatre. Plenty of parking available in driveway of home. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs. There is a cat in the home. An occasional glass of wine or beer is acceptable. No heavy drinking in the home, or coming into the home under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Only registered guests are allowed in the home unless prior arrangements are made with the hostess. Quiet hours after 10 PM.
