Welcome to The River House! This home is in the heart of town, within a half block of the crisp cool Dolores River, perfect for an afternoon swim. Also within a block of the town's gourmet grocery store, park and wood fired pizza spot and music venue, The Dolores River Brewery and other restaurants. Nestled in the sunny canyon, enjoy a home that is mountain chic. Fully equipped kitchen, two perfect zen patios, dark sky status, relaxing living room, flower garden and calming bedrooms. Whether you're in Dolores to take advantage of the great outdoors, here for work, visiting family or passing through, The River House offers a space for relaxation. Feel free to do yoga on the patio, curl up by the fire or play board games with friends and family. There is one private bedroom with a queen and a loft that is open to the living area with a queen above and twin below. The River House is the prefect base camp for all things Southwest! From the house you can access the Dolores River Walk; and 50+ miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in Boggy Draw trail system in the beautiful San Juan National Forest and McPhee Reservoir, the second largest in the state of Colorado. McPhee Reservoir is perfect for canoeing, fishing, paddle boarding and beach time. You can rent motor boats, canoes, paddle boards, etc at Docs Marina for the reservoir. The Dolores River (1/2 block away) is prime fly fishing territory. We are also 30 minutes from Mesa Verde National Park and 20 minutes from Phil's World, one of the top mountain biking trail systems in the US. The San Juan National Forest 40 minutes away provides hiking, camping, backpacking, hunting, snowshoeing (snowshoes are available at The River House) and mountain biking in your backyard. Telluride Ski resort is an hour and 15 minutes from the home. The list could keep going, feel free to contact us for recommendations! Hunters Welcome!
